Have you played other survival games or just Subnautica? Are you looking for only single or also multiplayer? I personally enjoy The Long Dark. It's so much more challenging than it first appears. Firewatch is good too but different because you have certain goals to accomplish so it's not so much open world like TLD. Do you want realistic survival games or do you mind if they also have a horror or a sci-fi element? There are a bunch of horror and sci-fi survival games out there, but unfortunately, not as many realistic survival games. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the horror genre and I do enjoy horror survival games but I wish there were more realistic survival games like TLD.

I have heard of these realistic survival games but haven't personally tried them yet...
