When I was in my teens I used to get a bit of a rash from using sticks as well (forget which brand specifically but I think it was degree). That ended up just stopping on its own. Since I always used to sweat a lot I’d rub on a good amount each time even up to about a year ago when I first got certain dri. By “a good amount” im saying like up and down 2, maybe three times if it was a hot day. My point is that it’s possible you’re allergic to some of the common ingredients found in all these antiperspirants.

So I’d recommend giving a natural antiperspirant a shot. A quick search gave me Tom’s of Maine and they say specifically that it is “non irritating”. I personally can’t speak to the quality of this but read a few of the Amazon reviews (link I gave is to amazon) and even just submit the question about if people who have received rashes from other deodorants tried this and does it really not irritate them.

I wouldn’t say you have to settle on being the sweaty guy just yet. A few decades ago, yeah, but now there are so many smaller companies that are around that specifically cater to people who don’t like or can’t use the mass produced products that most of the population uses.

As for certain dri, I would recommend it for most people in a heartbeat but since I got irritation from it (albeit from overuse) I don’t want to say “yes absolutely use it, I’ll be great.” It May end up irritating you like the others did. But if the irritation wasn’t an issue, I’d highly recommend it. The weather recently became warmer where I live and I’m sweating anytime I’m outside but I haven’t once felt or seen pit stains or even my shirts being slightly damp and I’ve been checking a time or two a day. The key thing is really to just use it very sparingly. It feels like it’s not enough because you’re afraid it won’t work but if you trust that it will, then you’ll have dry arms and no irritation.

Btw, I still put on a light amount of a stick antiperspirant every morning. Just gives me a bit more reassurance.

TLDR: id suggest getting a natural deodorant and/or one that specifically says that it doesn’t irritate (like the one in the link I put above. Certain dri has been great for me and while I had irritation as a teen sometimes, I havent had it recently so I can’t say whether certain dri, when the appropriate amount is used, will give it irritation or not. If I were you, I’d give it a shot if the natural ones don’t work but it could give you irritation. But there are so many small companies that are popping up to provide products to niche consumers so I wouldn’t stop looking if the natural antiperspirant and/or certain dri don’t work for you. I think you’ll find something in due time.
