My friend got Tower Adventure 9'10 for Christmas. We're in the Northeast, too, so it hasn't been used yet. Secure storage was the main concern. He's not gonna fish with it. This guy gives it a decent review. Also available in a 14.

A neighbor friend got Ocean Kayak Nalu 12.5 last year. She doesn't fish either, but she's a hardcore yakker and she likes it. She roofs it. Also available in a 10.

With an inflatable you have to (glue the rodholders on](http://sturgeonrod.wordpress.com/2013/04/07/hobie-inflatable-rod-holder-installation/) if you want them.

I see Hobie make iSUPs now, too. They come with a Hobie price, though.

Good inflatables aren't pool toys. They're rugged, like the towable tubes for boating. I had an inflatable Stearns kayak. It was very durable. I never worried about poking holes in it. I have a pump for Boston valves like the one in the Tower ad. They're fast- five minutes, you're ready to go.
