For <$10 more, you can buy a premade one very similar to this, which doesn't involve the time spent planning, measuring, and gathering all of the assembly materials and supplies needed.

I know every little bit counts in some cases, and if you're looking to squeeze out every single dollar possible, this can save money, and if you're a handy person, the quality might be better. If you're like me, it'd probably be worse. It's not really enough for me to do this, personally, unless I wanted a craft project.
