For knit ties and cheaper ties, feel free to just hang while it's still tied if you find it convenient. If you're wearing fine silk ties, it's considered good practice to untie them when you're not using them. I use this to store my ties and it works great.

I use this hanger for my ties and bow ties. It works really well, saves space, and is cheap.
