I think this would work:

You would also need to use a aux cord because vga doesn't do audio.

I've managed to get my monitor working in HD by using an HDMI to VGA adapter (it had been stuck at 480p since the 4.0.0 System update) - I saw this suggested on a Google search and also this observation here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/7875o9/monitor_users_are_you_able_to_select_all_switch/dowufz5/

This should work but you do of course need a VGA port on your monitor or TV. This is the adapter that I bought:

Now I can't say if this will fix it for everyone so it's your risk if you want to spend the money. It's also possible that Nintendo will fix this in a future system update but we have no idea if they will. Should they fix it then you'll have wasted 15 Dollars. If it doesn't work you'll have wasted 15 Dollars.

I see that this particular adapter is also on Ebay (assorted countries), Amazon UK, and other online stores. There are also of course other HDMI to VGA adapters out there.

But maybe it's worth taking a chance for 15 Dollars?

I hope that this helps some Switch owners.

Note: I take no responsibility if you somehow fry your TV/monitor due to plugging in something incorrectly, using a dodgy adapter, etc.

I will add that even if this does (or doesn't) fix it you should still contact Nintendo if you have this problem with the monitor or TV being stuck at 480p since system update 4.0.0 - Nintendo need to know about this and fix it properly for everyone. The more people that contact them the quicker they will fix it.

Here's some contact information for Nintendo Japan, US and UK (be polite, don't rant at them):

how about a VGA display and an extra speakers. check out our new products here though: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Converter-Raspberry-Chromecast-digital/dp/B01GFMW91E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467958252&sr=8-1&keywords=hdmi+to+vga+tv+stick

Turns your old vga monitor into a entertain display.

Just use an adapter like this one. That's for converting HDMI to VGA (digital to analogue). To convert analogue (VGA) to digital (HDMI) you'd need an adapter like this one.

I am not watching an 11 minute video but I think you are asking about this https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Adapter-Converter-Raspberry-Digital/dp/B01GFMW91E

I use one with a Roku stick and a really old LCD TV with no HDMI ports.

If that is all of the plugs (and your card is not a double slot card) then no. What you are looking at is a VGA connector. Very surprising you called this a GTX 560? That surprises me. You might want to double check your card model.

In any case you need either an old LCD monitor with a VGA connection, or a CRT monitor, or one of these which I've never used before.

GTX 560 should have these connectors. The fact your card does not have a DVI port is strange.

VGA is analog only and hdmi is digital only. Use DVI. You could get a digital to analog converter, but why.

Yeah must be something finicky with your computer, does it give you a certain error when the game crashes? You could also try using a virtual machine to run it on the new computer using an older OS. Something like VMware if you have a spare copy of XP.

Yes you can get an hdmi to vga adapter for fairly cheap. You mean male vga to female hdmi?

If the computer is that old though idk how high of a resolution above 720x1024 or w/e you are gonna get

depending on the connectors on your monitor (probably VGA and/or DVI), you can get an hdmi to either VGA or DVI adapter. Example links below:

https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Adapter-Converter-Raspberry-Digital/dp/B01GFMW91E/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1543295168&sr=1-2-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=vga+to+hdmi+adapters&psc=1

Connect your existing hdmi that you plug into the tv to the adapter and the adapter to the monitor
