How good are you with electronics? I only ask because the only screen I could think of would be from a PSP-1001 or later model. I have my PSP "jailbroken", so I use that as my retro emulation station. The screens are rather inexpensive, but you might be able to connect one to a pi (I'm no expert, but these screens are probably the best, imo)

There are PSP replacement screens on Amazon, but I don't know how you'd connect one to the Pi.

I'm pretty sure your screen is damaged. You could try replacing it. New screens aren't too expensive.
