I believe even with the new law (taking effect October 1) transport is considered the same as carry see my corrections below. So you can transport fully loaded. But PLEASE do not do that. I usually will put each firearm unloaded in it's own range bag (something like this), with the appropriate mags (not in the pistol or rifle) and carry extra ammo in ammo boxes.

It looks like you need to transport unloaded, especially rifles and "assault weapons" (as defined by CT law). I'd assume the unloaded excludes carry weapons but that's not clear (I'm assuming it falls under the not easily accessible from the passenger seat). Also much of the transport law is written for through-state transport - finding the parts that clearly pertain to a licensed CT resident is not easy.
