Sure thing (wanted to from the start but short on time):

  • DYS 3-axis GoPro gimbal : $189 (eBay GoodLuckBuy or HobbyKing)

  • 5000mAh 3S 11.1v LiPo Battery (you can get away with one 1/3rd the size/price) : $23 (HobbyKing)

  • ^ --- This is effectively all you really need to have stabilization --- ^

  • 5" LCD screen : $29 (Amazon)

  • Cell checker & USB out : $8 (HobbyKing)

  • XT60 Connectors : $4 (HobbyKing)

  • 30 gauge silicone (more flexible) wire for custom plug : $6 (Amazon)

  • 10-pin USB Connector (i added charging wires in addition to video out) : (Instructions)

  • Instamorph for making the 'plug' : $17 for a big jar (Amazon)

  • Heat-shrink wrap for insulating wires is awesome, and a must! 2mm, 3mm & 5/6mm : (Example)

I don't know if you'll have any luck finding something for under $50, but check out some of the budget builds for quadcopter racers. Something like this transmitter & receiver, camera, and this display puts you at about $90 & you could probably find this stuff cheaper on other sites. You'll need a battery to power the receiver and display.

At first when I plugged it in it blinked and that was it...but once it had a signal it is spot on.
