Assuming you're in the US, most would already be descented and fixed (if you're getting one from petco or a retailer, it'll probably be a Marshall's Farm ferret).
People normally recommend heavy ceramic bowls for food and water. I use this. Removable bowls and a stable base. It may be moved around in the cage, but it won't flip over. I tried leaving water in the bowl, but my furslut enjoys digging up all the water, so she now uses the bottle.
If you've got a few rooms for your ferret to explore through, you might consider getting a couple litterboxes.
