This is exactly what I tell medical students
this "buy the cheapest one" is terrible advice, why carry a tool that doesn't do what its suppose to.
My advice, go to your schools medical supply store (if you have one) and see if they will let you try out different stethescopes. Don't look at the price, but choose the one that lets you hear the best. This is a combination of diaphragm quality, size of tubing and eartips.
for me it was the welch allyn harvey elite.
