Here's my take:

Wheels on Meals - it's basically a Canto-Comedy with sporadic action bits that builds to a low key but really good fight scene at the end. I say low key because there aren't a lot of stunts but the fight, with Benny "The Jet" Urquidez is considered one of Chan's best, and his "brothers" Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung get to strut their stuff as well.

Project A I & Project A II - essential. These are two of the best movies Jackie's ever made.

Police Story I & Police Story II - the first is better than the second, but again, these are essential Chan films.

Dragons Forever - Jackie, Sammo, and Yuen Biao made several films together, and this is their best. I'd put it in the top five for Chan. Sammo Hung directs and he truly is the great modern action director, so his editing and choreography mixed with Jackie and Yuen's incredible physical abilities, on top of a supporting cast featuring some of the heaviest hitters in Hong Kong history, delivers a movie that has great chemistry between its three leads, comedy that actually works, and amazing action.

Crime Story - Jackie got a lot of flack for this intense movie from director Kirk Wong, which was a deliberate attempt to change his image in the Nineties, and a lot of people feel like the "realistic" action was disappointing. Those people are jerks. Time has been kind to this movie. It's a definite change of pace for Jackie, but Wong's storytelling, the fantastic supporting performances, the sheer Michael Mann-esque scale and scope this simple kidnapping story gets thanks to the schedule and budget a star like Chan commands, and even the action sequences look absolutely fantastic today.

Miracle - I'm torn on Chan's remake of Frank Capra's Pocketful of Miracles but ultimately I think it's terrific. Jackie directed and it's got absolutely amazing cinematography. He puts as much effort into his shot composition and camera movement as he does in his action. There are fewer fight scenes but the ones that are here are deeply intricate and among his best. The comedy can be really broad and there are parts that will baffle Western audiences (did anyone ever think it was a good idea to give Richard Ng a five minute scene just to do his schtick?), but I think ultimately it works despite being hopeless corny. Sumptuous, heartfelt, and probably should have been directed by someone else.

The Protector - nah. I mean, it's got some Eighties action charm, but this attempt to turn Jackie into Dirty Harry is pretty disappointing. It's interesting to compare Glickenhaus's version to Jackie's reshot and recut version but ultimately it's not very good.

City Hunter - very, very long and full of broad comedy and really tacky sex jokes, I really love this movie but your mileage may vary depending on your tolerance for early Nineties Hong Kong cheese. Wong Jing is HK's evil genius of bad taste and here he applies himself to a goofy adaptation of a manga where Jackie plays a James Bond kind of private investigator. But there are so many great touches that I can't help loving it. Is it a good movie? No. Is it the kind of thing you'd show at a party with a lot of beer to melt people's faces? Yes.

And if you can find a good Blu Ray of Armour of God I & II you should grab them. It's Jackie doing Indiana Jones and while they have their rough spots, they're also kind of amazing in terms of their scale and scope.
