Have you ever been a fan of traditional turn-based JRPGs? Because you mentioned KOTOR, which is a great game, but is in a completely different genre.

Regardless, I've played both KOTOR and KOTOR2, and while I loved them, I can easily say they don't stand up to the ground-breaking masterpiece that was Xenogears.

KOTOR was a game that was mass-produced, built for the least common denominator, and forgotten once beaten. You can still get this game anywhere for cheap, because copies of the game are not in demand.

Xenogears was met with unbelievable reviews, and maintained a cult-like following for decades. Copies of the game are scarce and can easily run up to $300 for the collector's edition. This type of exclusivity isn't reached by many games in this world. This status is reserved for only the most amazing games ever produced, and Xenogears is right up in the top of that list.
