unfortunately there is no real easy or quick fix for this. This happens because of the "re-designed" bumpers in the 3.5 mm controllers, making them "easier" to push, both bumpers are actually one piece of flimsy plastic. If its loose that means one of the bumpers snapped off. If you have the T8 screw driver you can open it up and super glue the bumpers back together, but this is only a temporary fix because they will snap again, mine lasted about a month. I had to buy this just for the replacement bumpers, so far they've worked great since I've replaced them back in April.
