I flew with mine last month from California to Florida so my Mom could do alterations for me. I was extremely nervous about stuffing my precious dress in a carry on bag but it all worked out extremely well!

My recommendation would be to use an Extra Large Space Bag something like this - https://www.amazon.com/Ziploc-Space-Bag-Flat-Count/dp/B00MDB3OSE?th=1. And a roller board carry on size bag. I opted for a roller board carry on just because I felt walking through the airport with a huge garment bag would not only be awkward but the airline wouldn't guarantee a closet to hang it.

I watched this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdMC5re9JXo to help me figure out exactly how to fold my dress to put into the luggage. Make sure to get ALL of the air out of the bag and the bag as flat as possible. I promise your dress will be ok! You may want to have it steamed once you arrive at your hotel but I didn't have any problems with wrinkles, my dress is all lace.

Since you are in First Class you should have no problem getting overhead space for your bag. I almost had an issue since I was in economy. I'd highly suggest anyone doing this to let the gate agent know you have a wedding dress in your bag and that you absolutely cannot check it.

When I finally got my dress to Florida it came out of the space bag and looked untouched. My dress was also pretty big, all lace, trumpet style with a sizeable train. Good luck and have an amazing wedding! :)

Hey, my son has major dust allergies and I recommend getting those sealed in plastic.

Cheap alternative: plastic garbage bags, twisted at the top and duct taped.

More complete solution: vacuum bags for just this purpose that reduce the amount of space they take up and keep them sealed and safe.

Not recommending these in particular, but this is the idea: https://www.amazon.com/SpaceSaver-Premium-Reusable-Storage-Included/dp/B00X8KSKF6

There are also a type that doesn't require a vacuum: https://www.amazon.com/Ziploc-Space-Bag-Flat-Count/dp/B00MDB3OSE/

Hope that helps.
