I use that guy. It worked in HK when all the rooms had a wired connection but no Wifi.
Something small and easy to manage is usually the best. I'd suggest something like this, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005WKIKA0/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=nerdtechy-20&linkId=4fbab33b0416646147fca98863eb53ef
Then you get a second lan port for your computer and as mentioned above, internet even when your computer is off.
Hello, goodbye~
I need this for my upcoming vacation, because I'll be away for a week and might not have internet access without it...D:
Thanks for the contest!
Get a travel router like this, it has a foot print lf a credit card, its super discreet and you can plug it into any wired connection and it works as a pass through.

So, a travel router then: https://www.amazon.com/ZyXEL-Wireless-150Mbps-802-11n-MWR102/dp/B005WKIKA0
One MWR102 to receive the wireless signal, then a long Ethernet line to another MWR102 (or a better AP) to basically re-broadcast your own wireless signal.
I got this https://www.amazon.com/ZyXEL-Wireless-150Mbps-802-11n-MWR102/dp/B005WKIKA0 and it's worked great. It's set up in bridged mode (the instructions are a little hard to find for that so if you need help let me know).
I got an device from my job called a ZyXel. It's a solid device and I haven't had a problem with it. But if you research "gaming adapters" you may find a better model, although i can recommend the ZyXel if you're on a budget like i was. My company uses them commercially and have had little issues with this one.
alright thanks, and something real quick, how would this work if i wanted to carry it with me to campus for my laptop? never used one before.
