I've always wanted to try Tapenade but haven't seen it locally. Tapenade is an olive spread, and boy do I love olives. I think I added it when this video was on all the time. I actually have quite a few strange, cheap exotic foods on my wishlist. Sushi ginger isn't that strange I guess. I love it though, I love pickled anything. I feel like i could eat that stuff after any meal. And of course we have Branston pickle, an almost mystical pickle spread from the UK. I hear you either love it or think it's the worst tasting thing ever, and I love trying stuff like that!

go to sleep madysan!!

Thanks for the contest!

i already put mayo on the toast anyway since the first time i made this it felt really dry. I also have ketchup on the opposite piece of toast for moisture. I thought about putting these sweet hot pickle slices that i have on it- Famous Dave's Devil's Spit pickles

they are like $4 a jar at kroger, and they are one of my favorite pickles now.

Go find an Indian food market and ask for something called 'achaar'. My favorite brand is Shan, and the one I always get has the orange lid.

Anyway, it's an Indian pickle made with mangoes, oil, and spices. Super delicious and goes very well with basically any Punjabi/north Indian dish, particularly the subzi (curried vegetables) and paratha (a kind of flatbread usually made with a savory filling).

I love that shit.

Edit: so Amazon got dat dope [hookup] ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008F08SRE/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_awdm_ByY1tb0A1PRKW). I get the kind with the green label, which is just mango, but this has the same spice mixture and just has some extra veggies.

Do you like pickled eggs? You could buy them for breakfast and they will keep in a cool dark place. Have an egg or 2 in the morning with bulletproof coffee (I have never blended it a I find it fine with a good stir), coconut oil also needs no refrigeration.

So that is what my friend in High School called them and I just kept calling them that.

It isn't on their online menu.

The closest equivalent I could find is Ground Hot Cherry Peppers.

Edit: I enjoy them and they are an order of magnitude spicier.

I do not have a recipe. The one time I made it, it was pretty mediocre. Fortunately I'm in Chicago.

But for everyone else, this is my favorite commercial store bought brand: Marconi Hot

Maybe throw some banana / sweet potato (either or both) or canned pumpkin in there?

Almond butter might change the texture up to be less spongy.

I have also heard this stuff is really cool

These are pricy but really good.

Well most of the SA meals are primarily meat based frankly.

I also eat primarily vegetarian and one SA thing I've found very helpful is Mrs Balls Chutney. It's got various uses but I primarily use it to fix veg dishes that turned out a bit too bland. So if I made a veg stew and didn't include enough unami components then I'll throw a tabblespoon of chutney on top of it.

> I've been hiding my great pasta capers from you!

And capers go so well with pasta, too!

u/xXWestinghouseXx · 3 pointsr/TalesFromYourServer

https://www.amazon.com/Frenchs-Original-Crispy-Onions-Certified/dp/B009WDG6K4?th=1 is a popular example.

You cut your onion half, top to bottom, then slice each half with the grain so you get lots and lots of half circles made. Then batter and fry each straw. Some places still make it by hand but if they can get away with it they use premade.

u/Pharaoh_Chromium · 2 pointsr/food

Amazon sells bulk imported olives. I like these.
They are packed with garlic and peppers.

u/TheLadyEve · 1 pointr/food

If you really want to take it up even more, try using an olive salad like this one. Seriously underrated sandwich topping.

u/ImSpicy · 2 pointsr/wicked_edge

Or an exchange with a some local oddity/delicacy. Like for Chicago it might be a few packs of blades and a jar of radioactive green relish for your hot dogs.

u/verylate · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses.

Olives! because martinis, the dirtier the better.

u/RudieCantFaiI · 5 pointsr/spicy

THESE are the ultimate spicy pickles.
