I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these little packs of teething gel, oh boy do I love them oh so much. http://www.amazon.com/Babyganics-Benzocaine-Free-Teething-Count/dp/B00AYFTM0U . They work so well. They have clove oil, which is a) natural, b) numbing, and c) so legit that even dentists use it. I also second wearing him, and if it's warm enough where you are, maybe getting outside!

If you're able to suffer through 10 minutes of intense pain, I've had luck with these: Dentek Canker Covers

They're like little pills that you have to hold firmly in place against a dry ulcer for like 10-15 minutes until it adheres to it. (The instructions say 20 seconds - it's a lie) Make sure it doesn't get stuck to your finger or Qtip or whatever you're using to hold it in place. Make sure it doesn't slide around on the ulcer. It will eventually stick in place and you can let go. Saliva will then continue to help it adhere and it will begin to swell up into this nasty blob of protective goo that will keep your teeth from rubbing on it and allow at least a moderate amount of mouth-use without pain.

It also seems to speed up the healing process by quite a bit. I used two over two days on a massive one I had a while ago and will definitely use them again at the first sight of my next one. They're a little awkward, but the only thing I've found worth sharing with others. Sick of all the bullshit about anbesol and allum powder or w/e. I feel like people who get ulcers your size just roll their eyes tearfully at such suggestions.

I also bought this for the same ulcer that my first suggestion helped heal: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015X5ZW4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Glad the cheaper option seems to work well enough.

Okay sounds like a plan but instead of oral gel I am going to get this:

I had two dry sockets after wisdom teeth removal and that pain is NO JOKE! Brushing my hair would cause pain! Breathing causes pain! I punched a hole in the wall!!! I was a 22 year old female that punched a hole in the wall!!!! That pain is no joke! I am also a dental assistant so... please do get the meds, or go see your oral surgeon to gauze it up and put meds inside or the following treatment; (I had my procedure done thanksgiving week where everyone closed 3 days after I had the removal so...) from Walgreens there’s a packet like so . Be careful with this oil because it will burn your lips if it gets on your lips. Have ice nearby if so. Get a syringe. Get some in the syringe and squeeze about 3-5 drops INSIDE THE HOLE. Now you have to do the following as well. Get this orajel and put the tip inside the hole and squeeze till you feel it full. That’s it! This will help greatly!!!! Now be very careful if you decide to eat. This stuff tastes nasty if comes out while eating. I hope you feel better... I mean you won’t for a while..: but I hope either you get your meds or do this recommendation. I’m sorry OP :(

You can buy it at Amazon.ca:

https://www.amazon.ca/Oralmedic-Mouth-Ulcer-Treatment-0-2ml/dp/B0015X5ZW4

It seems expensive but I'm not sure what's the normal retail price.

Also if your situation is really bad you can go to the dentist and they will spray the affected area for you (not sure if all dentists do this).

If you're in the UK, Oralmedic is available over-the-counter and is a total gamechanger. If you're not in the UK, you can order it through this website, which is a guy that appears to be taking pity on the rest of us that can't get it at the local pharmacy.

Since I discovered that stuff a few years ago, I've been able to nip all of my sores in the earliest stage when it just starts to sting. It's usually cleared within 3-4 days after that and never even gets close to the swollen-radiating-pain-red-ringed-open-white-patch-of-agony phase. I got a doctor to give me some lidocaine gel that I use as a topical anesthetic first, then barely suffer for a few seconds to cauterize the sore, rinse with copious amounts of water, then go on with my life.
