Gaming headphones are a pretty weird market. None of them are actually that good for anything but games, and other headphones can usually do games better. Instead of buying a gaming headset, It's better to buy a less expensive pair of headphones that preform better and add a mic. Gaming headsets may have all sorts of cool features, but you'll find that you don't really need them once you don't have them. The most important thing for gaming headphones isn't preset EQs or bass response, it's all about having a positively massive soundstage. That's how you can get your system sounding something like a surround sound setup (although headphones just can't do the same things that speakers can at any price range). Depening on your price range, you could get the Sennheiser HD558, the Audio Techinca AD700X, the AKG Q701, or the Philips Fildelio X1. As for mics, you can get the Zalman ZM1 clip on mic, or the Antlion Modmic, if you're a fan of boom mics and quality. On top of being able to play games with them, you'll also be able to listen to your music collection rather comfortably, which is the main place where gaming headsets fall short, as they're equalized and tuned specifically for games.

I'm sorry to do a huge info dump on you, but getting a nice sounding pair of headphones doesn't just improve your games and music, it improves your life :) Eventually, you'll be more comfortable wearing them than not.

Whichever way you go, though, I hope you enjoy whatever you buy to the fullest, and most importantly, enjoy Destiny's phenominal sound design with your headphones! And if you need more suggestions, I'd be happy to help!

Thanks for telling my I'm wrong, but can you give my a reason why. It doesn't give you much credit otherwise.

> I'm always sad to see people naysay in the face of innovation.

Tell me were I said I don't want this. I never said it. If you actually read what I said, I said it was a cool idea, but hella expensive to make. No company would want to take up this job.

Also Figure prints is exactly like what I said. They do make it into one solid piece , so no articulation. But they are pretty expensive at $130 for a pretty meh looking design. The models are really good, but they way they apply color is pretty bad. And that is ok since WoW isn't the most graphic intense game out there.

But the big one. They say on their FAQ that is takes several months to make. In this time, they are making a new mold and hand crafting your character.

> We have so many ways to crank out custom pieces of plastic that look good. It doesn't take some master toy crafter.

Here's a quite directly from Figure Prints

> As a work of art, the FigurePrints® product requires a great deal of individual time and effort.

So yes, making these custom toys does require a ton of time and skill!

As a reference, This actual Destiny figure is $190. Now image having someone custom make that for you. It's gonna like like in the 200-300 range easy.

Like I said. It would be awesome to have this, but I can;t imagine any toy company doing this, unless Activsion gave them a ton of money. Tbh I might go and 3D print my own personal figure.

Haha, I feel you-- I do miss the days when a console was a console and you didn't have to worry about customizing it to improve performance.

Here's the drive and the external enclosure I'm using, total $59.98:

Original link (see edit below; might not want to get this one): https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-240GB-Solid-State-SDSSDA-240G-G26/dp/B01F9G43WU/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1537193290&sr=1-6&keywords=250gb+ssd

Better link (Samsung, $8 more): https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-250GB-Internal-MZ-76E250B-AM/dp/B07864WMK8/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1537193972&sr=1-3&keywords=250gb+ssd

There are better SSD drives that that one, but the PS4 OS is not optimized for SSD so other people's tests show the better drives aren't any faster than lower-end drives. If you're buying one for a PC, then you might want to spring for a Samsung or something, but it's not necessary on PS4.

Edit: Ah, wait, that's not the exact same drive I'm using. Mine is listed as 250GB. This one is listed as 240GB. I think the minimum PS4 can use externally is 250GB. I know there's funny business in hard drive capacities due to the next step of bytes being 1024, not an even 1000, but I don't know if it would make this 240GB not meet PS4's "250" requirement or not. Might want to go with something explicitly 250GB to be safe.

Edit 2: Wow, Amazon actually has the Samsung brand 250GB for only $57 on sale today. I added that link if anyone's interested.

The LG IPS panels are great. fast response time, great viewing angles and good colour reproduction. I prefer a smaller monitor but 27 inch would be perfect if you are looking for something larger. I use the 25 inch ultra wide because I use it as a 2nd monitor for my MacBook occasionally. (it has additional width that isn't in use with the ps4.) it only cost like £150 from amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-25UM58-inch-Ultrawide-Monitor/dp/B01BV1XB2K/ref=sr_1_6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1543156347&sr=1-6&keywords=lg+ultrawide

This would be great for use on the ps4.

I have the Gold Headset as others mentioned, which work great. But my favorite setup has to be my Philips Fidelio X1 (purchased at $200, they keep rising in price now) with the V-Moda BoomPro Mic.

Most comfortable setup I've ever had and they sound great. The unfortunate thing is the port on the DS4 doesn't seem to drive sound very well, which is why I tend to use the Golds. That and the active power provides slightly better noise isolation when it comes to the mic (on PS4, not necessarily PC).

Have you tested remote play over the internet yet? Some people don't realize the upload speed required. (at least 2mb/s upload is OK, 5mb/s is recommended i guess)

To run you press the down arrow ..

Otherwise - I use mine all the time.. and honestly the only issue is with aiming. The analog sticks are not nearly as good as the dualshock 4. I added a grip to mine shortly after I got it which helps and there are some analog grips you can try that might help.

grip - http://www.amazon.com/PSVita-Trigger-Grips-Sony-PS-Vita/dp/B0072A4JVW

analog stick pads - http://www.amazon.com/Bluecell-Control-Controller-Joystick-Playstation-Vita/dp/B00G3TV6Q4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421277829&sr=8-1&keywords=ps+vita+analog+stick

Also the sound can get out of sync pretty easy..

If you need recommendations, These are the exact ones I purchased, but basically just look for good price and decent ratings on amazon. Make sure to get a good usb 3.0 enclosure too, if you didn’t know that already, ssd’s won’t come with a way to connect to USB already in the box.

ssd

Edit: looks like I was off by $3. The total is about $43 (before tax, prime shipping).

Im on Xbox so I don't know if this will help you but I got one of these. WD 256GB My Passport SSD... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNN2WQM?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf. Plugged it into my USB 3.0 and it works great.

u/Pandakidd81 · 3 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

If you like Ryzen, my recommendation would be:

Ryzen 2700X

https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-Processor-Wraith-Cooler/dp/B07B428M7F/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Ryzen+1800x&qid=1572630237&s=electronics&sr=1-1

MSI PRO-Carbon Motherboard

500GB NVMe SSD (1TB is kinda overkill for what you want to do).

Corsair Water Cooler (sealed) I think its the H100i?

2x8GB is fine

750w Power Supply is fine

2060 Super

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Q7jV6R

Choose your monitor/keyobard/mouse. I recommend Corsair for mouse and keyboard, its what I run. This should be plenty

Personally, Alienware is massively overpriced for what you get. If you want a prebuild, I would look at Triplewrecks company Evolve PC or something like Origin.

Generally you will pay a premium for pre-built obviously. I just am personally not a fan of Alienware

u/shepx13 · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

Go buy this and run the pixel flipper. It should remove them for you.

Edit- not sure what plasma you have, but IMO plasmas are still the way to go if you want the best picture quality. Just need to be sure to watch something different every few days, or run this program. I had a local sports logo in mine from watching too much baseball, and this removed it for me.
Also, make sure your plasma is not running in torch mode (brightness and contrast way high).

u/AileStriker · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

I hated how i would have to compromise movement to reach ability keys in Warframe, so I bought an MMO mouse (https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G600-Gaming-Mouse-Black/dp/B0086UK7IQ)

Mapped abilities sprint and crouch to the front 6 buttons (ignored the rest)

It helps even the load for right/left hand usage IMO. Right hand has movement, reload, jump, super, and interface. Left hand has aim, fire, grenade, melee, weapon switch. I may switch the jump/sprint just because i find myself tapping sprint when in a bind when I want to jump and vice versa.

u/kingjulian85 · 7 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

NOTE FOR PS4 PLAYERS:

The PS4 does not support external storage devices under 250GB, so don't make the mistake of going for a 128GB drive or something like that to save money. I got this VectoTech 500GB drive and it's been working great.

This is what I picked up from Amazon, works amazing! Just plug it in, transfer D2 over, bye bye loading times!

Samsung 860 Evo 500GB 2.5... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0781Z7Y3S?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

ORICO 2.5 USB 3 External Hard... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LY97QE8?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

My brother did the same thing expect he got this SSD.

u/TheRtRevKaiser · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

Something like this foot controller would work great for WASD, and you could bind everything else to mouse buttons on something like Naga or Logitech G600. Those MMO mice have a million buttons

u/gazaldinho · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

I was recommended a Kingston 240Gb drive by a friend. It's great value for money. Nabbed it from Amazon - Kingston SA400S37/240G SSD A400 240... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N5IB20Q?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Regarding enclosure, I just got a cheap Qumox USB 3.0 Enclosure 2.5" External... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DK3V5LN?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I hear good things about the Samsung SSD's. Also some people like to pay slightly more for the enclosure but I was just testing the waters.

u/S_C_H_W_A_Y · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

An MMO mouse like this could really help you out. You could map pretty much any keyboard key for movement you need!

u/AnimusVulnus · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

Did it work well for you?

An interesting PC peripheral is a foot pedal called the Stinky Footboard. Though it's a bit more expensive than the CronusMax is, as well.

A number of people expressed a willingness to donate to helping your gaming experience in some of the other comments as a hat tip [or rather wave/salute/bow] to your dedication as a gamer. A kickstarter might be overkill for it but you might work directly with a few people towards the end of improving your gaming experience. A few bucks through paypal or something here and there might afford you some options towards that end. shrug

Have you calibrated your TV? Rarely are the out of box settings very good. Just google HDTV calibration and there should be some online sources and/or blu rays. I use this for all my TVs and it works like a charm.

u/m00saca · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

If it helps, I'm glad I spent the extra ≈$80 on an external SSD for the performance. But I agree that it's strange that the burden is on the consumer to rectify the producer's cost.

I bought the smallest Western Digital My Passport SSD and it works great.

u/Samurai56M · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

Silicon Power 256GB SSD 3D NAND A55 SLC Cache Performance Boost SATA III 2.5" 7mm (0.28") Internal Solid State Drive (SP256GBSS3A55S25) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075RJS55D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_p.JUBbEPC8E5D

This is the one I just bought recently for my PS4 and moved Destiny 2 and Fallout 4 over to it and it works great. Both games run much smoother with faster loadtimes and character menus.

u/WayneBrody · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

I've got a Logitech G430 and I love it. Great surround sound, really good mic, and comfortable on your head. Reasonably priced at $80.

Its wired, so you'll be tethered to your PS4, but you can also get a little adapter which allows you to plug the mic into your PS4 controller.

u/megamik_5 · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

I would recommend a Hybrid Hard drive. Its a regular hard drive with a SSD in it, I got one in my PS4 and runs awesome. a noticeable load time difference between me and normal drive users, and you can get a 2tb drive for 100$.

Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FireCuda-Gaming-Solid-Hybrid/dp/B01IEKG2HM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498054105&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=hybrid+hard+drive&psc=1

I posted this last week in another thread:

>If you're looking for a compromise, buy an SSHD with a USB 3.0 enclosure. Got a 2TB SSHD for $89. Here's a good breakdown of the speed difference between SSD, SSHD, and HDD.

I noticed a significant speed increase on the load time of the menu for Destiny.

If he's on an older non-X XBox One, for about $80 you can get him an external SSD that'll vastly improve his load times and menu responsiveness.

If his current chat equipment is "meh" you can get him a much nicer headset.

The Mega Bloks (or Mega Construx) Destiny sets are a hoot to build and make for nice pieces if he's into curios. There's lots of little ones, but the Fallen Walker is one of the cool bigger ones.

So, would this SSD be a good choice?

u/nsxviper · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

You have different options.

If your Beats has a removable headphone wire.
V-Moda BoomPro add-on Mic.

If your Beats doesn't have a removable headphone wire.

Antlion Mod Mic Unidirectional

Antlion Mod Mic Omnidirectional

If you want to use the Zalman or Antlion mic, you need to purchase a splitter.

Sennheiser Splitter

USB Headphone/Mic Adapter, requires USB extension cable

u/Snakeobich · 7 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

I went with this Samsung 860 EVO 500gb SSD.

And this Orico adapter.

It works phenomenally. Cut all of my load times in half, and intra-instance load times are nonexistent.

Highly recommend it.

u/Ganondorf_Is_God · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

I actually use a sennheiser pc headset and plug it into this which goes in a usb port.

You can also use this and plug it into the headset/mic port on the controller.
