Hey - I am connected with a lot of the farmers in North/Middle Alabama as I use to organize a few events - I don’t know of anyone growing organic soybeans. Everything I am aware of is traditionally grown (acres and acres of pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides all of the no good variety.) Best bet is buying in bulk. 5lbs

I’ve found that people in Huntsville are not willing to take the time to make awesome products at home and also aren’t willing to shell out for real, artisan products in the market so we are pretty dry for good ingredients and even good, organic, local foods. Everything comes from afar and isn’t high quality.

I bet your miso will turn out to be dank!! Nothing better than doing it yourself. Good luck!

I would like to point this out:

>And don’t settle for a 99% partial eclipse just outside the path. “There’s no comparison between partial and total solar eclipses when it comes to sheer grandeur and beauty,” Michael Zeiler, longtime eclipse chaser and creator of the Great American Eclipse website told Universe Today. We witnessed the 1994 annular solar eclipse of the Sun from the shores of Lake Erie, and can attest that a 99% partial eclipse is still pretty darned bright!

Do yourself a favor and make the short trip up to the Nashville area where you can see "Totality" for up to 2 minuites and 40 seconds.

I also recommend a good pair of solar sunglasses and maybe a good pair of binoculars with a solar filter.

Do not ever stare directly at the sun without protective gear on

I'd just like to point out that I didn't bring up the commercial brands of jerky (they really aren't that good, but if the comparison is going to be made, it needs to be accurate). To answer your question... Jack Link's 3.25oz bags are currently $4.68 at Walmart and 4 packs at Amazon are $15.

Look, like you said, your store isn't for everyone. My ideas on pricing come from growing up at the edge of the desert in Southern CA, where there were quite a number of stores that sold fantastic beef jerky, often made on-site. You obviously get the sales traffic to do well enough and I wish you the best in your endeavors.

Yes, lots of others would have chipped in to help, if they knew who to contact.

We walked away from the events of April 27th with a few lessons.

  1. It takes about 3 days for everything in 7 foot deep freeze to thaw out if you leave the lid closed.

  2. You can never have too much bottled water on hand. Gallon jugs for washing up are a necessity.

  3. A grill is nice, but a turkey fryer is a godsend for boiling water.

  4. There's a reason it's called a Dutch Oven for a reason, you can actually bake in these. I always used mine for beans and stew until my buddy showed me how to make biscuits, cobbler, and cake.

  5. A hot shower is probably worth a lot more than you think when you haven't had one for a few days. Baby wipes warmed in the sunshine are a lot better than a washcloth with cold water.

I strongly recommend a book titled Tongue Fu!: How to Deflect, Disarm, and Defuse Any Verbal Conflict. I need to reread it, but it's got great ideas and philosophies for being proactive which dealing with difficult situations. It helps you to actively respond rather than react when you think (or actually) you're being verbally attacked/accused.

Interesting idea. I repurposed a metal over-under bunkbed in my garage as a free-standing storage loft. Works great for storage bins, I don't know why it wouldn't work for a reasonable amount of lumber. Might find one cheap at a yard sale or on CL. Good luck.

I have the same, $40 a month with my modem at the promised speed. I've had Knology for years and WOW seems to be trying to improve some things where Knology did not.

A tech I talked to recommended this pricier modem: http://www.amazon.com/ARRIS-Motorola-SB6121-SURFboard-DOCSIS/dp/B004XC6GJ0

Edit: Ack, meant to reply to never_comment...

I like Connors, Scene, and Cantina Laredo. Melting Pot is good for a date, but I bought my own Fondue Pot and I've found way more creative recipes to try at home.

I miss Sakoa, though. That was hands down my favorite lunch spot.

They don't exactly have jerseys but you can get him something like this in time from Amazon.

Enjoy the game!

I honestly never occurred to me that someone might not know what magnetic poetry was. So the original edition is 300 words on magnets that you can rearrange to make funny and weird poems or lines on your fridge (or storm shelter). There's a ton of different editions like sexy, geek, ect.

We also added this to our shelter for those words that are missing:

Magnetic Ransom Notes:

Fair. I took a look at a common Filtrete size on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Filtrete-Ultimate-Allergen-Reduction-1-Inches/dp/B00TUDHSM6/

It's a dollar more per filter versus ours, so that's pretty much a wash - but you can't order single filters, only two or more. That's part of my value proposition. A lot of homes have different-sized returns, and the idea is that you get a built-in "time to change" reminder when they arrive.

Appreciate the feedback on the design, I tried to keep it as simple as possible!

It might be easier to just download Audacity and get an affordable audio interface and mic. Here's what I record with and it sounds great for what I need.

Focusrite Scarlett Solo - $89

Tonor Condensor Mic - $30

XLR Cable - $6

That “gunfight” was started by the cops, but yes that’s where it was.

Edit- pretty exhaustive book on the subject: https://www.amazon.com/Twin-Peaks-Ambush-American-Outlaws/dp/153317492X

That's her travel cage. She has a much, much larger cage that she sleeps in at night, and a medium sized one that I take along with her travel cage when we skip town for a few days. When we're home, she's generally out of her cage on one of her two giant manzanita trees. Yes...she has two.

She won't use huddle huts, and even if she did I wouldn't give her one. They trigger nesting behavior in hens and can lead to egg laying, which can in turn lead to calcium deficiency at best and fatal egg binding at worst.

If it were 50, I'd put a blanket over her and be done, but my glass of water on the coffee table literally froze overnight. Not completely, but enough to form a skin. I don't care how many blankets you put over a cage, unless you happen to own a Quaker, that's too cold for a bird.

I appreciate your concern, but I've had Kai for almost ten years. I know how to take care of her.

What part of Owens crossroads? I thought that area was really limited.

I use a docsis 3 modem that I got on amazon: DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004XC6GJ0/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8

I had drops in service as well, I was constantly on the support trying to figure the issue out. Essentially Comcast's equipment tends to shutdown/reboot for unknown reasons, maybe MTU overload, I don't known. The docsis 3 I got seems to have fixed my problem as well as given me a boost in speed.
