Hey broski. Back in the day, the Zowie bungee was the only decent option, but nowadays almost any mainstream-ish bungee should work.

That said, here are a few recommendations, considering you might like certain brands/aesthetics/colors more than others!

u/JD2Chill · 2 pointsr/MouseReview

Some recommendations.
Ambidextrous mouses
Dream Machines DM1 FPS - Have heard good things about these mouses. Haven't used one personally but would not be against one if I was looking to try something different than what I already have.
Zowie FK series - Difference between the FK1, FK1+ and FK2 are just size.
Logitech G Pro - Personally I prefer the original over the new version with the Hero sensor because I like the PMW3366 better than the Hero16K but most people state they can't notice the difference. Also, original is pretty cheap right now.

Ergonomic mouses
Zowie EC series - Users report having issues with the scroll wheels on the B models (EC1-B,EC2-B) but that seems to be hit or miss. I have an EC2-B that I love and have no issues with. The B models have a newer sensor than the A models. B models have the PMW3360 sensor.
Logitech G403 - Great sensor (PMW3366) and fairly light at just over 87 grams.

You will probably notice these are some of the most popular mouses on this subreddit, haha. Take my recommendations with a grain of salt and do your own research as well. Hope this helped in any way!

u/mult1kill · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Yeah I hear it's been super slow lately, Zowie really does have great products. I might get one more if my DM1 Breaks and I miss the feel, the FK1+ Looks great! but I would like a FK2+ Model (I miss my original yellow FK) so if they don't make one then, it's a no go for Zowie stuff for me and i have fairly large hands I think? I never measured but I am guessing around 18.5cm? or a little more, I know I have wide palms.

I just say be patient, it sucks but other than another DA I can't think of anything else thats in the same shape and weight. You could always go for a Secret but without weights it's about 120g. I found it useful in clutch situations in CSGO and have managed to pull of great flick shots with it (played it at 400dpi and 500hz/1000hz). Best part of the Secret has to be the ability to change 'surface material adjustment', if you have a cloth pad use the cloth setting for best performance same with hard etc its cool. It helped me stop on the dime and have more control, but not everyone is like me haha, I like to keep options open.

Another Recommendation: GM-XM300 http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-XTREME-Gaming-Mouse-GM-XM300/dp/B01CHRJJB4/ref=cm_rdp_product haven't tried it but it has a DA/EC1a/IE 3.0 Shape. Might be something to look into?

HyperX is taking fucking FOREEVEEEEEER. I'm triggered about it. And they won't say anything about it either.

In the meanwhile, here's a couple of mice you might really appreciate.

  1. Tecknet Hypertrak: it is a laser sensor, but a very solid one nonetheless. Its weight is right under 100g out of the box. Here's my review on it. and here's a follow up post I made after modding its shape, which was quite easy but messy. The ability to mod its shape is what makes it such a great mouse, otherwise I wouldn't bother with it.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/beu55b/revisiting_the_tecknet_hypertrak_godtier/

  2. Monstar Gear VECTOR KC2-C Ships from korea, takes about two weeks depending on location. Its shape is based on the Zowie EC series, and its size is just a bit smaller, which is great for small/medium hands. The side buttons are all programmable, the sensor is a 3389 (best on the market), and its weight is right under 100g.

There are some others, but it's too much effort to type. Here's a list of non-popular 3+ side button mice (barring MMO-Mice) that I keep updated here and there. If you know of some that aren't on the list, let me know. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hZqFq8DmdToKH_-TXD6qt02DRya3Ttv-_y3y9Rg8SaI/edit#gid=0

p.s. if you live in Europe, check and see if you can buy the Origen Ozone Exon X90, seems pretty solid. I did use a mouse that was a copy of it and the buttons on the side required a decent bit of force to activate, but they sit really well against your thumb so it's not hard.
u/mutsuto · 1 pointr/MouseReview

I'm thinking about getting a new mouse. I tried some out in store the other day, to discover they all feel more comfortable than the cheap thing I have right now. I don't quite know what it is that I want.

  • Games: I don't have a primary atm, so a bit of everything. Though I rarely play fps games. [But I haven't tried Overwatch, and that might change my mind]. No MMO or MOBA. But I'll be using the mouse daily for everything, including general browsing and use while researching etc.

  • Handed: Right. Though I do sometimes use my mouse in my left, so maybe ambidextrous. Not a requirement though, as I can happily use a right-handed w/ my left.

  • Budget: Maximum at £50. But would prefer lower [since I don't need bells and whistles].

  • Hand size: Average, ish. 17cm tip of the middle finger to the base of the hand. I think that's what you're asking for. 8cm sideways.

  • Grip type: I tend to grip w/ my fingertips, and pivot on the 'ball' of my hand/ wrist. But I also change, and sometimes use others for a bit. edit: I think my grip type is heavily dependent on the mouse I'm holding. I tried a Mionix and it was comfortable.

  • Weight: I don't know, I've never held a 'heavy' mouse before. So I'll just say average.

    Any other details:

  • I generally would like to be able to adjust my mouses sensitivity on-mouse via buttons.

  • I don't want any configuration via software i.e. plug and play. [as I use linux, and drivers are generally a bitch]

  • No LEDS [or atleast disableable], and it can't look too gamery.

  • Buttons near the thumb for browsing: back-up, go-forward type things.

  • Preferably black or grey, but not required. Preferably non-obtuse logos, but not required.

  • Since I don't play fps, I especially don't need a mouse that they tend to like, with really low sensitivity and sliding your hand all over the table to use. I don't have much desk space, and due to my fingertip-pivot-grip I need a sensitivity such that I can maneuver my cursor around my 24" monitor w/ ease.

  • Wired

  • Not a requirement, I don't know if such things exist, but - quiet? Do quiet mice exist?

Since I don't know too much about mice, I'm quite open for suggestion, and I don't think I'm too picky and could have my mind changed if you recommend something. If there are any features [esp. ergonomic ones] you think would be useful to me, please tell me.

    ---

Also - What's with the mice with the free wheeling scrolls? Is there a list of mice that use this? What are the general uses for this? Looks quite fun though... So, if it's a choice that I can get w/o many sacrifices, I wouldn't say no.

edit: I'll not have a look over logical increments if anything catches my eye. But I doubt it since I don't really know what I'm looking for. This Logitech G400s and Razer Deathadder are the kind of look I'm trying to avoid.
u/thomastheg0d · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Mouse bungee's are amazing, they work perfectly for me and I play much better with it since it reduces the cable drag.

Zowie camade is probably one of the most popular mouse bungee's. I personally use it and the build quality is pretty good,Razer bungee and Hotline games bungee are some other popular ones.

Pretty sure they all work the same.

u/gnar_whales · 2 pointsr/MouseReview

just ordered the g305 along w/ some anti-slip grips that are made for the g pro/102/203, but im sure it'll fit just fine on the g305. dropping the amazon link in case you or anyone else is interested!

i've also got a pair of grips on my g900 that i threw on in january and they've been holding up pretty good so far. however there is a bit of oil sheen on the rubber due to daily use, but better that then the actual mouse :P

u/Letalis13 · 1 pointr/MouseReview

The only mouse I have with a tilt scroll that also fits the bill as lightweight is the Technet Hypertrak. It is under 90g with weights removed. Nice materials, stiffish 8m omrons, tilt, good software, lots of buttons, good surface materials, snazzy customizable weight system, only $25. It feels odd at first but ended up feeling quite comfy for me. (17.5cm hands) The wide stance works well for controllability and I think wider mice are better for folks with wrist issues.

There is bit of a catch. It has an Avago-9800 sensor with significant acceleration. For a casual player it is definitely worth a look at the price point. If it comes down to that or the G502, take into account that even thought 502 has a better sensor, the Technet will make up some ground with the lighter weight.

This kept getting deleted:

I have 4 reliable ones in mind atm, but I'm really not sure which would best suit me.

Logitech G-Pro

Logitech G-403

Zowie FK1 or FK2

If any mice guru can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!!

u/pbmbp · 2 pointsr/MouseReview

The Logitech M series was designed for long casual use, so its sensor and software are far from gaming grade. It's the "best wireless mouse" if your criteria is desktop use and long battery life.

For wireless gaming mice, the G602 is king IMO. As close a feeling to a good wired mouse I've tried. Great optical performance and amazing battery life for how well it tracks.

u/foxual · 3 pointsr/MouseReview

That's a sweetspot pricepoint for LOTS of great mice. All have the latest and greatest sensors, just pick one you think would fit your hand and grip best (in no particular order):

u/5H4D0W_5P3C7R3 · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Hi everyone! I just want something cheap and cool-looking that matches my black and red color scheme, no need for super high build quality or a ton of buttons with macro capabilities or anything like that. That being said, I would prefer for it to have high DPI (3000+, preferably higher) and a 1000hz sensor since my current $3 Walmart 125hz is noticeably skippy on my 165hz monitor.

That being said, here's what I'm looking at:

Tecknet Raptor Pro

Pictek (rebranded from VicTsing) T7

XSOUL X5

E-3lue EMS-639

OTAO knockoff

The first four, I know for sure have drivers. The first two, I know for sure the color of the LED's can be controlled - the third and fourth, I'm fairly sure, though I'm iffy on the third (though I think it probably can). I can't seem to find drivers anywhere for the fifth, and I'm pretty sure the LED's can't be controlled, which is a shame because if they could, I'd definitely buy that one instantly since it looks so damn cool and matches my build perfectly. In terms of aesthetics, unfortunately, I vastly prefer the cheaper/lower-performing ones than the more expensive/higher-performing ones (though obviously I know those are also cheap and low-performance chinese knockoffs when compared to what you guys mostly enjoy). All that being said, do you guys have any advice for me? Is there anything in particular here that jumps out at you as something I should definitely, absolutely 100% stay away from? And, on the flipside, which of these five would you recommend? I've looked into pretty much everything in this price range that meets all my criteria (3000+ dpi, hard wired, 1000hz polling rate, black/red color scheme or LED's that can be set to red, symmetrical, sharp/"edgy" aesthetic because I'm a total sucker for that sort of thing), but if you can think of a suggestion outside of this list, feel free to let me know!

Sorry to hear about the storm spawn dying on you. But, as for replacing the storm spawn, I have a few mouse suggestions.

Corsair M45, is a great choice mouse for a hybrid grip. It uses a "flawless" sensor, and has a good software suite.

Perixx MX-1800, is another great choice more geared toward the budget minded. It uses the same "flawless" sensor, but the software suite is not as intuitive. Also available in red.

Edit: As for the mousepad the SteelSeries Qck is a great simple mousepad, and recommended for optical mice gamers.

u/tmluna01 · 1 pointr/MouseReview

They're custom-cut Teflon feet which have rounded edges. They're basically like Hyperglides since they're 100% PTFE, and they're also 0.8mm thick. They're also smaller at 7mm wide. They work great on my custom mouse pad.

The original inspiration came from Artisan's mouse feet for the Microsoft Intellimouse: https://www.amazon.ca/ARTISAN-NISHIKI-Type-2-Premium-mouse/dp/B0074S2Q1W

Since the Skoll also uses Intellmouse feet, it was an easy mod.

u/ninox_bst · 2 pointsr/MouseReview

Get yourself some microfiber towels and isopropyl alcohol, works well. Just splash a bit of the alcohol onto the towel, wipe the pad over and it'll dry pretty fast.

Also I use this mouse pad which is water resistant, stops anything soaking into the material, so its easy to keep it clean. The glide and quality of the pad is also good: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GJJV2TY/

Edit: btw you only need like 70% iso alcohol, don't get the 90%+ stuff, it doesn't need to be that strong.

u/CosmonautJizzRocket · 1 pointr/MouseReview

It was this: https://www.amazon.com/Changing-Charging-Management-Increased-Competitive-Mac/dp/B074FYDP1L

Except it was labeled as a different brand. Pretty sure it's the same with a different logo on it.

Honestly though, these are both super ugly and i wouldn't buy them again.

Something like this https://www.amazon.com/CASETHRONE-Gaming-Management-Bungee-Esports/dp/B071YYV73Y/ Looks much better and according to one review, works with the g403 cable.

u/remember09 · 2 pointsr/MouseReview

Glorious Model O is your best bet probably. If you're really on a budget and the deathadder didn't feel too big, I would probably just buy the Steelseries Rival 310 that's on sale for 30 bucks. You're not going to find a better mouse for that price and it should be fine for your hands if you've been using the deathadder. Link to the deal below.

Hm.. Looks nice but is 43 cm... Bit too short

Would you recommend me that over this one?

http://www.amazon.com/TeckNet-XXL-Gaming-Mouse-Special-Textured/dp/B00YKGJG64?ie=UTF8

It seems to have better reviews, is larger, and the borders seem better.

u/equippedlol · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Don't have them on hand but here is the link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076LZ59CC/ . Wanted to get the G305 as light as possible. I don't mind paying extra to improve a mouse. I change to hyperglide feet on mice I really love and have added 1 CeeSa and griptape mod.

u/illitirit · 3 pointsr/MouseReview

I was pretty skeptical when I purchased one to try. I got this one :
http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Tt-eSPORTS-Galeru-EAC-MSB001/dp/B00BOVOED8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1453850201&sr=8-2&keywords=mouse+bungee

I tried all the other ghetto hacks prior to purchasing the mouse bungee like taping to the side edge of desk, taping cable to back of monitor, sandwich the cord between two monitors etc etc..

While those all functionally improved the mouse drag problem, it looked like shit. There is a reason for it being called ghetto mods bc it looks ghetto on your desk.

If you value the aesthetics of your desk setup then a mouse bungee is not a bad investment. I am extremely picky with keyboard / mouse peripherals and only use the best.

It looks good on my desk and serves a purpose. IMO, its not a waste of money if and only if your eyes cant deal with ghetto rigging something up.

u/DiscipleTD · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Here is the GPo. It has a fantastic sensor with no concern. Same shape as G203 with different (lighter) switches for Mouse 1 and 2.

Best mouse I've used if shape is excluded, but I personally didn't like the shape.

Logitech G Pro Gaming FPS Mouse with Advanced Gaming Sensor for Competitive Play https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JPOLLTK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_oiWACbXNZZZCH

I'm looking for a just a budget gaming mouse to replace my random Microsoft mouse until I can get something more interesting. As of now I've narrowed it down to The Hiraly F300, the Redragon M711, this PICTEK mouse I don't know the name of and the Logitech G203. Could anyone help me find which one of these is the best?

I just ordered myself a G502. My G9x is -still- working however.

It's on sale for 60$ on Amazon right now.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019OB663A/ref=pd_luc_rh_wl_01_02_t_img_lh?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

My G9x still works good, earlier this year I replaced the feet...but I bought this one in 2009 and wanted to try something "new", this was a good price, and I got 10$ due to Prime Day Promotion, so 50$.

I ended up buying it after watching Linus's video on it, and said he was thinking of replacing HIS G9x with it, though it's not marketed as a G9x successor, he felt it was, and googling shows many do.

It's not good for the Claw Grip(FPS), but I'm willing to give it a shot myself.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl25wpMoEtY

Though I have heard alot of people saying the M45 by Corsair is like the G9x.

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Raptor-M45-5000-Optical-Sensor/dp/B00IDWFN4U

Certainly similar.

I dunno, I like Logitech though, and every review claims the Logitech G502 has an INCREDIBLE Optical sensor, the best in the HISTORY of Mice, not just marketing speak, but people doing workroom tests say this mouse has NO Acceleration, no dead zone, and handles lift-off better than any they've even seen. So I am willing to give it a shot for sure.

I got a G700s a few years ago from Logitech as a replacement for a G9x that was having issues. It was big and felt nice, but the cord was stuff and hard to manage, even with buying custom ones, and in the end I went back to my G9x after a few months. So basically I've been using a G9x as my mouse since 2009. I think...it's time for something new.

Hell, I saw even used G9x sell on eBay for 70$! And I have mine replaced with new feet and all the accessories, so if I end up liking the G502...I might go that route...though parting with my G9x...I don't know.

u/MagneticGray · 3 pointsr/MouseReview

I agree. The 305 actually does feel surprisingly good without the battery cover. I just don’t like potentially getting sweat from my hand inside the area with the battery so I can’t bring myself to leave the cover off. I thought about laying grip tape over that area somehow but then I just bought a 3D printed lightweight shell for it from eBay.

For the slippery feeling you could get grip tape cut to fit for the 305 like this or this.

u/rossipedia · 3 pointsr/MouseReview

That bungee is pretty crap. The Zowie Camade is super solid, I have one and it's fantastic. There's a knock off on Amazon for $6 cheaper.

u/MichaelDeucalion · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Old mouse broke, need new mouse for my laptop.

I found this mouse, and while it certainly looks attractive, but im not sure if this is what I need.

I tend to play shooters, though mostly not fps, but games like Warframe or isometric and third person games.

I am right handed, and my preferable budget is around $30 USD, but will not go above $50.

Hand length is ~22.23 (this is done with a tape measure so I cant be sure about exactness).

I tend to use the palm grip while web browsing and lite gaming, with the fingertip grip in other scenarios, or the claw if I get agitated.

I would prefer a mouse on the mid to heavy side, and I am a bit new to mice and it seems like an Adjustable DPI would be preferred, but more than 3000 seems a bit excessive.

I find having other buttons available for me very convenient to use with macros. I use both Windows 7 and Linux, and as this is a laptop, I would prefer a wireless mouse, but I have no problems with using a wired mouse. I would appreciate any help or recommendations from you guys.

u/trentbat · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Hmm, these days, most non-gaming mice have been going wireless, so cheaper wired mce are hard to find, especially one with extra buttons. The Microsoft Comfort mouse is really one of the few choices that are affordable.

The Logitech M500 is one of the closest to your criteria, though it does not have a perfectly symmetrical shape, and is catered to right-handed users.

There are many wireless choices out there that you could easily find, and I reccommend getting those if you really do not want Microsoft Comfort Mice.

However, if you're really looking for high-quality mice under $40, you'll have to go gaming-grade. The Logitech G300S is about $30, and is truly ambidextrous. However, the button placement could be found uncomfortable for some people. Also has way more buttons than what you want.

The other gaming-grade choice is the G302, which has buttons on the right, despite being symmetrical.

EDIT: Found THIS and THIS. I wouldn't put too much trust in these though, you never know if they may have build quality issues.

u/Joe10112 · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Thanks for the info. Any quick thoughts about the Deathadder Chroma or Essentials?

Also, do you know of any mice off the top of your head that have buttons next to the Left Click (and Right Click) buttons?

My current mouse: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G300s-Optical-Gaming-910-004360/dp/B00RH6R7C4

I really like the two buttons next to Left Click and Right Click; I usually bind small actions to them like Stop/Attack Move in Dota 2, and Quick Melee in Overwatch. I'm not used to having buttons under my thumb, and I'm a little worried that I'd accidentally press them (never had buttons under my thumb before, so IDK how "easy" it is to accidentally press them).

Not a must-have for me, but I realized that it was something I quite liked about my current mouse. Only reason I'm switching is because my G300S right click is slightly broken; sometimes it "sticks", and right-clicking doesn't feel responsive occasionally :/ (Plus it feels a little small; I'd like a bigger mouse).

Thanks!

G300s is ambidextrous with 4 extra top buttons.i
It's also very cheap. Walmart and bestbuy were clearing them out for $15, you might find some around 20 or so now.
Other good ambi mice are the g203, gpro, and g305 though side buttons are only on the left.

Gigabyte XM300, has a 3988 optical sensor and has the shape of a rival 300. Pretty big one and fairly cheap 39.99 with a 10 dollar mail in rebate on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-XTREME-Gaming-Mouse-GM-XM300/dp/B01CHRJJB4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469057907&sr=8-1&keywords=gigabyte+xm300

Not a "pro fps" level sensor, but it's good enough for most games and has lots of buttons

Oh.

In that case:

This is my first one so I may not be the best to ask, but I really like this one. you may wanna look into other options if you don't have a rubber cable. The threaded ones tend to be a little thicker and this thing is a tight squeeze.

I bought mine in a local sporting goods store, but here they are on amazon!

The G602 is only 34.47USD which SHOULD be well below 50 euros

Steelseries Kana V2 or Logitech g400.

If you already own the mice you mentioned, I would say stick with Kinzu V2. Logitech G500 is ok but a tad gimmicky. Weights and excessive DPI/CPI switch options, also I believe the sensor has prediction and acceleration.

I have the Thermaltake Galeru. I think it was worth every penny.

I just did this today with Lizard Skin 0.5mm grip tape ( https://www.amazon.com/Lizard-Skins-Grip-Black-0-5mm/dp/B00FAW40AE/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=lizard+skin+0.5mm&qid=1562993700&s=gateway&sr=8-2 )

  1. Print the following template at 100% size / "Actual Size": https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/bbw0ng/scan_of_gpw_hotline_games_grip/
  2. Cut the template out as close as possible with sharp scissors or an x-acto knife
  3. Lay the template over the Lizard Skin. I used thumbtacks to hold the template in place while cutting
  4. Then just peel the adhesive off the back of the lizard skin and place carefully on the mouse

The grip is unbelievable. I actually had to increase my sens in some games because I'm able to move faster but have more control over my GPW

You could try the G602, it has 11 programmable buttons and a ton of battery life, I use it.

If you really need a lot of buttons you could try an MMO mouse (ex: G600, Razer Naga), or just search for any MMO mouse wherever you want to buy.

Here, take a look at the Wayback machine, you'll see it says "Laser" in the first comparison on the page: https://web.archive.org/web/20160826022232/https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Wireless-Mouse-Battery/dp/B00E4MQODC (says optical lower down though like in your image)

So I'm not crazy, and the line that listed laser is removed now. Anyway

these are not lizardskins, but an alternative if you don’t want to do it yourself.

You might be looking at a different product page. The OCN thread here shows it with the AM010 sensor. The chart on the amazon page shows as "High-definition optical" sensor. http://i.imgur.com/0DG9FxE.png

Most of them in the Zowie style are really good.

I bought the Hotline one because its basically the same thing but cheaper. https://www.amazon.com/Mouse-Bungee-Mouse-Management-Device-Sporting/dp/B071YYV73Y

I see no reason to not have both paracord and a bungee. For some a Bungee offers less benefit but there are no cons to using one that I'm aware of and the only thing that both paracord and a bungee do is reduce cable drag. If his cable is hitting his monitor or most of it is hanging off the back of his desk paracord won't do much at all.

Pinky rest would be awesome. Monoprice has a RAT clone. Not sure about the pinky rest

The Logitech G602 and G502 both have thumb rests, no pinky rests though.

Here's a hard one: I'm left handed, have pretty large hands, and am looking for a many-button mouse that is as ergonomic as possible. I'd like a minimum of 6 re-mappable buttons usable with a left hand. Wired or wireless, either is fine. Will be used with Windows 10 at work.

I was looking at this, but the button placement looks terrible and it's probably too small.

I'm also considering a Magic Trackpad 2. The gestures would probably make up for the lack of extra buttons, but it's expensive, and I don't know how well it will work with Windows with the custom drivers out there.
