    Features:
  • Works on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC - Driving force is designed for the latest racing game titles for your Xbox Series X or Xbox One console. Add driving force to your controller selection and you may never want to race with a regular controller again. G920 driving force pro also works on PC with select titles
  • Realistic force feedback - G920 driving force is engineered with dual-motor force feedback that is designed to realistically simulate the feel of your car and tires on every turn and type of terrain so you can sense under- or oversteer, drifting and more. With helical gears modeled after the gearing used in car transmissions, you get exceptionally smooth, quiet and precise steering action. Anti-backlash tensioning keeps the wheel and pedals tight, maximizing your control. Rotation: 900 degrees lock-to-lock. Hall-effect steering sensor
  • Quality construction - With solid steel ball bearings in the wheel shaft and stainless steel paddle shifters and pedals, driving force is built for precision racing and long-lasting reliability. The wheel is covered in high-quality, hand-stitched leather, giving it the look and feel of a high-performance racecar wheel and giving you a more comfortable, durable experience. Durable built-in clamps and bolt points allow driving force to be mounted securely to a table or racing rig to minimize shifting or wobbling during aggressive maneuvers

Glass-filled nylon mounting clamps

The nonlinear brake pedal mimics the performance of pressure-sensitive brake systems for a more responsive, accurate braking feel

[Logitech G920] (https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Dual-Motor-Feedback-Driving-Responsive/dp/B016LI8SCG?th=1) - Best setup I could find for under $500+. I really like it. Solid quality, holds up to (ab)use well.

Rubber Pads - I put these on the wheel and shifter to help hold it to the desk better. I was dealing with sliding without them. I use the flat ones on the underside of the mounts, which press against the top of my desk.

[Half Keyboard] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D6NTPWH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - Gives some extra buttons close to your wheel since you'll lose out on some hotkeys.

[Desk Brackets] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LYL14WV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - I mounted these to studs in my wall, and on the underside of my desk. I keep my screens wall mounted, and my PC on a platform under my desk. These keep the desk super stable.

edit: Added a piece of equipment.

Hmm, so it looks like it is a 7200rpm HDD so that should not be an issue. If you're passing vehicles and getting the fps drops, it could be the RAM not being fast enough/big enough to store the new data.

On the bright side, SSDs are cheap these days compared to 5 years ago and you can pick up a 240GB one strictly dedicated to FH4 and a few other games for 30 bucks.

If I were you, I would try upgrading RAM first to and see if the issue still persists since it is at the minimum of the minimum requirements. The HDD running at 100% is a bit concerning to me as well. Hence, maybe both may be the best route. This RAM and this SSD would run for 110 total.

And if you do get an SSD, make sure to get a sata 3 cable and ensure to plug it into the sata 3 port on your MOBO

Edit: Also, quick clarification question. Is it consistently at 100% or is it variable? If its variable that's fine as it is simply loading new areas and then stopping once loaded. Variable = 1-5 seconds in this case. In that sense, you may just need the RAM upgrade.

We just put together a new racing line infographic. I really like these kinds of quick reference sheets that pack a lot of info into one graphic. Hope you like it.

The 3rd book in The Science of Speed Series is also now available. The Perfect Corner 2 covers complex track sections and completes our core program starting with The Perfect Corner and Perfect Control. Here is the Amazon link, but it's available from other retailers as well.

Core i7s with 16 gigs of RAM, according to the setup guy working for the company that ran the rigs.

You really don't need to lecture me about how PC parts work, it's literally what I do for a living. The reason I mentioned the 980 Ti is because a) it's germane to an actual, known setup used by the Forza engine, and b) the performance of that GPU is extremely close to Scorpio's capability according to Microsoft and multiple other reported sources working on the system. Whether it's AMD or NVIDIA is functionally irrelevant - if anything, an integrated solution at the same performance point is more likely to meet the 2160p/60fps threshold since Turn 10 is optimizing down to the bare metal of a single hardware configuration. As a general rule of thumb (based on performance between Motorsport and Horizon 1 on 360, and the united Forza Engine between Motorsport 5/6 and Horizon 2/3 on X1), you'll optimally get 60 fps on Motorsport and 30 on Horizon - they halve the framerate to double the rendering window so they can effectively stream all the additional open-world assets (like textures and free-roaming drivatars). If we were talking about jumping Horizon to 2160p/60fps, there'd be a valid discussion here, but we're not. They've already proven they can hit a baseline of 60fps in Motorsport on the same hardware that Horizon is doing 30. That's why I mentioned the 980 Ti.

4K monitors do not cost $2000. You can get a 60hz one right now for $400. Here's a brand new one from CES 2017 for $1000 that includes HDR over HDMI (a first for monitors!). The only one that's projected to hit $2000 is the 2160p/144hz/G-Sync/HDR-over-DisplayPort AU Optronics panel, which is chock full of features that are unnecessary for consoles. And by the way, 2160p gaming looks pretty damn amazing.

I have the Thrustmaster 458 wheel and love it. I basically bought the XB1 and wheel just for Forza.

I have the steering on sim and bought this $90 wheel stand off Amazon. It's not amazing, but is pretty good value and meets my needs.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/forza

I just got one for my TX 458 Italia from Wheelstand Pro. I have been pretty pleased so far. Not super expensive, folds up when you're not using it, pretty sturdy and big enough to fit me (6' 1"). The bar in the middle IS noticeable, but I got used to it. Note that the pedals (at least for my wheel) are not directly bolted to the stand, but are clamped between two metal bars. This is a different stand, but you can see the red bar holding the pedals down. Kind of weird, but it works. Good luck!

Do you have the game installed on an external drive? If not pick one of these or these up. The internal drive only spins at 5400 rpm so it only has a theoretical read speed of 145Mbps. Which isn't great since you need to install your games anyway.

But if you do already own an external drive and it's installed to it, then you might actually have an overheating issue. Buy a can of compressed air from your local store and blow it out from the top where the fan is and then on the sides. Then take a vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment and give it a good scrub on the sides and top.

I had overheating issues since I own a day one edition xbox one and I do like the "intercoolers" that clip on the top because of where it sits in my tv center it blows the hot air out the front away from the intake on the sides.

From the Amazon product page:

About the product:

Everyone can compete: featuring the Forza Racing Championship Esports league, enhanced spectating modes, and amazing split-screen play.

My friend gave me his wireless madcatz wheel (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Racing-Wheel/dp/B003YBUSMW) when he upgraded to his fanatec.

Its no where near as nice as my DFGT but it does the job. Not having force feedback blows but you get used to it. I wouldn't pay the 150 they are asking on amazon but if you can find it used on CL for about 50 bucks its not too bad. Plus its miles better than the wireless speed wheel thingy.

I really liked that wheel and was bummed when it became incompatible with my XBOX. You can use that wheel with Forza 7 you just need to get an adapter. I use this;

http://cronusmax.com/cronusmax-plus/

-and-

https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Authentic-Wireless-Receiver-Windows/dp/B00FAS1WDG/

It works fine, it's not perfect, but I like it better than using the controller. I guess I got used to it with my XBOX 360. Requires some futzing around and plugging the adapter into a PC and installing some dowloaded files to enable the functions on the wheel. I also have one of these;

https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/product/g920-driving-force

I use that when I play on my computer, it also works on the XBOX. I am not a fan of the clutter in my living room, also the pedals don't work all that well with the furniture I have in my living room.

You can buy lt from amazon or any good game retailer.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B005L0Z2BQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1427667065&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX200_QL40&keywords=thrustmaster+shifter&dpPl=1&dpID=31IeTgHKflL&ref=plSrch

If you want it for the xbox one make sure you get the TH8A shifter. There's another shifter which doesn't I nearly made the mistake.

You have to update the firmware on this before it works. Yep this shifter has its own firmware, So does the wheel. Easy enough to update unplug both and plug them into a pc and download updates

Forgive my ignorance but you seem pretty knowledgable about these parts and I know nothing about computer hardware - I bought this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N2S6ZUQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HH0wCbY7KF72G and ran FH3 off it fine but now when running FH4 off it I'm getting "stability issues" with random crashes - switched to the internal and still having issues. Judging by the price difference I assume the HD I have now isn't good enough to run the new game without these issues but neither is my internal hard drive apparently....so if I get a better external HD I won't have these problems(I ask because the cheapest ones look to be 150$+) Seems kinda insane they built a game that's so advanced the consoles it was made for cant even run it properly.

u/ItZzSora · 7 pointsr/forza

The drive that you purchased is 5400rpm (Seen here), which is similar to the drive inside the Xbox. If you want something that won't yield any bugs/crashes, a 7200rpm drive is what you'd be looking for. Such as this, which comes in at only $80, and is 2TB 7200rpm. It comes with the USB cable needed, and according to Amazon reviews works well with the Xbox One. All you should have to do is format the drive when you plug it into your Xbox (which it will come up with a screen to do so when it gets plugged in.)

I also agree that it's insane that they made a game that can't even run properly on their hardware, but that's Microsoft for ya lol; they want you to buy the Xbox branded hard drives/ Xbox One X.

Used for $10. Or new for $26 if you get it fast.

Because of the roads and environment, Horizon 2 is the greatest Horizon ever. (Horizon 1 is also awesome.)

Hold up a second.

Their official website (https://www.forzamotorsport.net/en-US/games/fm7/features) calls Forza 7 "The Definitive Wheel Experience" and claims it will support every fan-requested wheel on the market. Wheel support is native, and clearly noted on the box.

There's even an official Forza racing wheel:https://www.amazon.com/Fanatec-Motorsport-Racing-Pedals-Xbox-One/dp/B0753DZXVQ

What the hell gave you the idea that wheels aren't recommended?
