> Also ps3 games dont need os3 emulators they are DESIGNED for computers. For example im talking about the pc releaes for ps3 games found on steam.

That's a different matter. From what you said, it sounded like you wanted to play actual PS3 games on the computer. And the disc that you insert into the PS3 had code that's specially compiled and designed for the PS3, while the PC version of the game is completely different. (They probably share most of the code in the design stage, but the end products look very very different on a technical level, to the point of being different games.)

Anyhow, I've been doing some comparison shopping, and I have some recommendations:

CPU (top recommendation listed first):

  • Intel Core i7-4770k: Amazon - $328.59 - (Benchmark: 10242) this is the highest performance processor that's reasonably priced. Going higher than this is a waste of money for little gain. this is the current version of the processor that I have (mine's a Core i7-2700k). Think it's worth the additional $19 over the regular 4770 listed below. The benefit of going a bit high end on the processor is that it'll keep up for a longer period, so will be able to put off upgrading for another couple of years beyond what you'd be able to with a Core i5 or i3.

  • Intel Core i7-4770: Newegg - $309.99 - (Benchmark: 9901) Still a very nice processor, but if you're going to go with this, I still think that the 4770k is worth it.

  • Intel Core i5-4570: Newegg - $199.99 - (Benchmark: 7065) this is a competent processor that will more than handle anything you throw at it. It's just a bit less powerful and it can handle fewer simultaneous tasks than the Core i7. It'll probably begin to show its age a bit sooner than the Core i7.

    Motherboard:

  • ASRock Z97 Pro4 - Newegg - $109.49 - Compatible with everything else, and it has a very nice feature set. My boyfriend did the comparison shopping on this one. (I usually defer to him on motherboards; he's very good at comparison shopping on them).

    RAM:

  • G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB - Newegg - $75.99 - This is almost the same memory that I have, one iteration newer. If you want to, you can bump up to 16GB, but I don't think you need to. And RAM almost always comes down in price, so if you end up wanting to increase it later, it'll probably be cheaper.

    Hard Drive:

  • Western Digital Black series 1TB - Newegg - $74.99 - Not much to say on this. A nice big hard drive with plenty of space for games, good performance, and a 5 year warranty.

    Power Supply:

  • Rosewill PHOTON Series PHOTON-650 - Newegg - $79.99 - Has more than enough wattage to power everything and last you for as long as you keep the computer. It's also modular, so if you're not using some of the wires, you don't have to have them cluttering up the inside of the PC (but be sure to hang on to them, in case you need them in the future).

Graphics Card - many possibilities, here:

  • SAPPHIRE DUAL-X 100373L Radeon R9 - Newegg - $189.99 - This is a new graphics card, part of AMD's current generation. It'll run current games (and future games for a while to come) on max settings. (We can look around at eBay, too.)

  • MSI AMD R9 270 - Ebay - currently $77, not much time left in the auction, though

  • Any AMD R9 270, 280, or 290 on eBay is probably a good bet. You may just need to hunt around and snipe a few auctions. And be sure the seller has good ratings of course.

Case - any of these will work well:

  • APEX SK-393-C

  • Antec NEW SOLUTION SERIES VSK-4000

  • Rosewill REDBONE

  • Or you can shop around here to find something you like better. All the cases beyond that link should be compatible ATX Midsize towers. (But you can run it by me first, if you like, just to be sure.) I'm very partial to Rosewill, which is Newegg's house brand, but anything with a lot of purchases and a high rating should serve you well.

    OS

  • Windows 8.1 - Newegg - $99.99 - no real way to get around this, unfortunately.

At least one good thing here is you felt comfortable enough to tell your wife something personal about your needs.

I think the answer to your post is in your last sentence. You don't even really know what you want to do. Take some time and think about the worst and best case scenarios one year, and then five years out. Are you still married to her? Are you still having sex with her? Are you having sex with men? Are you having sex with women? Is she having sex with men? Do you love her in the same or different way? Are you friends?

When you know what you want and can work for it, then it's easier to start feeling less guilty and anxious about your current emotionally charged situation. If you both want to stay together, then I'd recommend The Ethical Slut as a book both of you could read independently and together to discuss how your sexual desires inform your personal dedication to each other. It also might help with your fraught feelings surrounding topping and her seeing other men.

If you don't want to stay together, then, yes, it will feel pretty terrible and embarrassing for a while but you will move on, she will move on, your families will still love you and in the end it's best to part amicably than continue a relationship that at least one of you doesn't think will work anymore.

Keep being honest with yourself and her. Do things out of love for you and her. It'll all be okay someday.

I had all my sex in my 20s and I just...got bored of it I think, I have a shitton of porn and prefer video games to sex to be honest. If someone is arranging a group sex thing I might put my hand up, but it depends on what games came out that week :)

I'm just in general not an overly affectionate people, which my friends love to torture me with by hugging me whenever they see me :S

It's just not really my thing, and I m ok with that.

However what helped me, alot, is this book http://www.amazon.com/Feeling-Good-The-Mood-Therapy/dp/0380810336

It isn't just some random self help book, the guy who wrote it pioneered the field of cognitive therapy which is used to successfully treat depression by a large percentage of psychiatrists.

I have found so many books and quotes tell you to feel inspired and to be better at life, but this book actually gives you techniques on how to do it.

>At this rate, I'll have finished the series by the beginning of next week.

Oh, my dear VOD, The Wire isn't a bag of popcorn - it is Christmas dinner, it is a fine wine or 30 year whiskey; it must be savoured. enjoyed. One cannot read the great works of Shakespeare or Shelley by the beginning of next week...

Actually, you probably could...

Let me know how Twin Peaks goes, i've been sneaking to parents house to steal internet, downloading True Blood and other stuff. I would like to know if i should give TP a go.

"Pull the other one, mate" is more an English phrase, perhaps cockney. Without AGloriuosCuppa to confirm, we can only speculate. "I'm only pulling your leg" is very Irish, meaning joking around.

I certainly didn't mean to shatter your enjoyment of Lee "suspiciously interesting openly gay teenage years in the bible-belt" Gould.

I'm actually reading a book right now, Farm Boys: Lives of Gay Men from the Rural Midwest - if you enjoy stories like Lee's, but are also true, i'll send you the book when i'm done :)

EDIT you probably meant you were gonna finish season 1 by end of next week? That is a perfectly good time period...

Recently I've been playing magic again with my best friend's husband. She got him this deck box which I thought was pretty sweet. You can get him something like that and fill it with some booster packs.

I'm sure he'll love whatever you get him because you're taking time to get him something related to his interests. Presents like that are always the best.

u/EconomicEvolution · 2 pointsr/gaymers

Damn, you're too young for me. But I hope you do find love! At that age gay love can be so powerful yet innocent.

And a few words of warning. What I'm about to say is something I very much so wished someone told me when I was a young gay man.

ALWAYS use condoms, even in a relationship (for at least two years into a relationship and request that your boyfriend/partner regularly get checked for STDs (show him your test results and he should show you his test results; even if he swears he's not cheating) As you get older and have sex there are men who will do something called 'stealthing', which is where they secretly take the condom off during sex. This IS rape. You need to do what gay men learned to do during the AIDS crisis in the 80s-90s; which is during sex, reach back, feel his dick, and check to see the condom is still on your partner. Do it several times during sex, it is awkward at first but you get used to it. Condoms break and slip off. But some evil, evil men really do take the condom off on purpose, even if they KNOW they have STDs.

Always get STD tested every six months, every 3 months is better. And remember this:

99.9% of STD is no longer a death sentence. Especially if you get checked early. There are treatments for all STDs, and cures for most, and medicine advances every day, exponentially.

IF.... IF you ever get an STD, especially HIV. It will be emotionally difficult at first... but the stress will lessen each day. Find a support group, your doctor will know how you can find one. Don't let yourself think you have to fight alone.

ALSO!!!!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!

LEARN A MARTIAL ART!!!

I learned Muay Lao, I highly recommend it. It's Laotian kick boxing and it's VERY powerful (and VERY fun!!!).

But something like ju-jitsu or the best is probably Judo. Which will teach you how to fight when on the ground which 99% of real fights devolve into.

YOU NEED THIS TO STAY ALIVE IF ATTACKED!!!!

ALSO get 3 bottles of Mace. Preferably the foam kind.

Use one to test it out. Go into the backyard and make a test dummy, you can use a watermelon on a fence post or just stick a piece of paper with a smiley face on a fence and practice spraying it from different distances. BUT BUY/USE THE SAME BRAND/MODEL. So that when/if you have to use it in real life you know how it will work.

WEAR A MASK!!!!! Buy a swimming mask that covers both the eyes and nose. And has a suction seal.

DON'T EVER TEST MACE ALONE!!!!!

Have someone else on standby and it's best to have 3 tubs of water on stand by. They need to be large enough to easily dunk your head in. Just clean water, no soap.

If you ever get some in your eyes, have your friend help you to the first tub of water and dunk your face in and use your fingers to wipe (not rub) AWAY FROM YOUR EYES IN ALL DIRECTIONS. This should only take a few seconds. Then move onto the second tub and repeat wiping your face off away from the eyes. Spend a few more seconds in the second tub then move to the third and repeat again. Finally use a water hose to rinse your eyes. That will help. It burns and it takes about 30 minutes before the burn starts to wear off.

Again, use one to test it out, the second should go in your car on the driver side door (there's usually a pocket on the door that works great). And keep the third on you whenever you go out. Especially alone or on a date. I don't care how well you know the other person, bring the mace.

One final suggestion. Read 'The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology' by Dr. Ray Kurzweil. Dr. Ray Kurzweil is now the director of engineering at google, there is a reason for this... it's because he's a genius. His other books are great too, I liked 'How to Create a Mind' as well.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Fiber!

But there are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber acts as a binder, and will make your poops bulkier. Insoluble fiber pushes the poops through the intestine (too much of it can make shit go through too fast) and also helps clean as well (think ruffage).

Fiber powders contain both types of fiber, and are never a bad idea. Things like rice, potatoes, and bananas are good sources of soluble fiber for bulkier poo.

There are other things to help as well. Yogurts with active cultures can be great (but low sugar!) and some fermented foods like sauerkraut can be very beneficial. Eating less fat is also a good idea.

lastly, this is a good book to read.

Meh. It was just okay. When /r/DCGaymers went, it was opening weekend and quite crowded, but there honestly wasn't that much information there overall. They only showed four video games per system, with a short gameplay/demo clip for each one. If you know anything about the history of gaming (which I'm assuming most of us do), there wasn't much new to see. It's definitely a better exhibit for the non-ga(y)mer as opposed to the ga(y)mer. I would have probably preferred reading the book the exhibition was based on instead (though, looking at the reviews, it seems to be just as shallow an analysis/overview that the exhibit was... I almost always enjoy a deeper work to a shallower one). I am glad I didn't pay for it though. :-)

I ought to go back one of these weekends when it won't be as crowded and see if I get more out of it.

Razer Naga 2014 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E8CF268/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Probably one of the best mice I've ever owned. The keys on the side are mechanical and responsive and map to your number keys by default, or you can set them to macros through the software for your favorite MOBAs or MMOs, if you decide to use them.

It also goes up to 8200 DPI, which is great for me because I actually have four 23" monitors to span horizontally and vertically (large screen space). And, I only keep it at 7000 DPI.

The back/forward buttons are on the top of the mouse below the scroll wheel. For aesthetics, it glows green, if you care. I have smaller hands and find the mouse comfortable to use for hours without any problems. I've owned it for about 6 months, and it's taken a beating, so it's quality made.

Anyways, hope this helps.

Last Night on Earth is an awesome zombie-movie style game with lots of different scenarios and its own soundtrack cd. It's a MUST for fans of classic horror movie tropes...it really feels like you're in the midst of a zombie movie and after four or five years of playing it off and on it still hasn't gotten old for me.

Similarly, Betrayal at the House on the Hill is another awesome horror-themed game. In this one, you and your friends explore a haunted house, placing new rooms as you go, so the house is never the same way twice. Then, "the haunt" starts...it's a randomly selected horror movie scenario that all of you must survive...except for one of you, who is assigned the role of traitor and must bring down the others.

If you liked Cards Against Humanity, I recommend Stupiduel as well, though it's a bit hard to find as it is out-of-print.

I recommend reading The Gay Metropolis if you have some time. It gives a pretty good decade by decade accounting of Gay history from 1940 upward.
