I was using a smoke clear mnml case but due to the type of material it didn't do well with drops. It protected the phone but permanently warped the case.

The I blason one feels super nice and is good if you need something a little more protective. Does a good job of protecting the phone all around. Occasionally has a slight rainbow effect on the rear. It's a hard PC back with a nice soft touch bumper all the way around. Smooth and nice feeling and also adds some grip.

The nilkin looks super nice and feels nice. Very thin but adds grip and looks great on the phone. Has rough grip strips on the sides of the phone. Is Crystal clear looks like glass.

Screen protector I use is also nilkin as it's the only one with true edge to edge coverage. The gpel one is nice but leaves some additional space all around the screen protector compared to the nilkin one. It also doesn't do great adhering to the corners. The nilkin one however has survived multiple hard drops to the floor and while it has some damage it did not spiderweb or crack. It also comes with a camera protector.

Nova don't think about it, just grab one before the promo ends, that's $710CAD off release price.
The Canadian model is H873, which -does- have wireless charging, but can't be rooted.
I've the G6 on Freedom, very pleased with it, the WiFi calling works great.
After battery-saving tweaks, 6h SOT from 85% charge (Accubattery).
There's a fix for "moisture detected" if you happen to get that.
Back camera glass can be DIY replaced for $15-20, if necessary.
The phone is IP68 and mil-spec 810G rated, tough by design.
Platinum's the better choice, black is a fingerprint magnet.

I don't know where you are in the world, but in the US, I frequently checked the US997 variant prices offered used through amazon. Found one over the weekend like new for $380. There's still a few for sale in platinum:

I put more faith in amazon warehouse over third-party sellers in terms of warranty and support if something breaks down the road, but then tax seems to add up to about $400 for the listings right now.

(the us997 supports all basebands / carriers, and can be rooted with custom rom support, which was a big requirement for me)

well for that price range, you won't get any killer sounds to take advantage of the quad dac if you have it, but you can get some great quality headphones. I really like Audio-Technica, with that price range you should be able to get good sound using this:

I also have a spigen thin fit. I kinda don't like it cause it's slippery. But it looks so nice on the phone. I use it time to time.

Forgot to mention... This cover and parallax case are perfect fit. There's literally no gap between the cover and the side of the case.

Im using the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle PRO because i loathe putting screen protectors on and i want this phone super protected because its so expensive. Larger than i like but VERY protected, fits really well, and looks great.

After trying a couple, I actually ended up liking this one. The matt black has a really nice, anti-smudge texture, and it retains the spirit of the original shape really well IMO. I'll check out your suggestion if I decide to try any others though. Thanks!

I've been very happy with the Spigen Tough Armor case. Not to small, not too big. Solid kickstand, which I found also works well as a finger support. (better than the stupid pop up cup things)

I know the phone is protected, I've dropped it a lot. I'm happy with the size and location of the cut outs. That the volume is not a cut out I really like.

I keep a spare $50 bill in the case. Cause I like having it on me, even if I risk losing money with my phone.

Is what I use, it works great with my Spigen case even though it's edge to edge. The top isn't fully covered as you can see, but it was very easy to apply and there's no air bubbles or anything like that.

I'd say this is a safe option.

I use a Supcase Unicorn Beetle, minus the holster, that's exactly the same style as the one I used on my G3. I really love how it feels, nice and grippy.

Mine has a crappy piece of plastic with a pull-tab at the top corner installed on the screen. Pretty much just meant for basic protection getting it from the factory to the owner, not a legit screen protector at all.

i put on the tempered class while the phone was in the case to be safe. have had no problems at all with the case pushing on the edges of the glass. they fit perfectly with eachother

Thanks for the reply! I just wasn't sure how delicate the back is. I guess I shouldn't worry about the back cracking so much since I'm keeping it in this case. Was looking for a slim one and this seemed to fit the bill.

I think it will be better if you get a 64 GB Model. actually I think there is a G6 Plus too with 128 GB. May be try that.

Software experience is more or less the same.

I have that one. Really slim and nice.

And a big plus for me is dust caps for headphone and USB ports for when not in use.

I actually (sort of) have one. I bought the Ringke Fusion (which has a TPU frame with an acrylic back panel) when I got my phone. And just today, I noticed that the seam between the TPU and acrylic was coming apart. So I carefully peeled them apart all the way, and now I have a kind of DIY bumper.

It's a bit of a loose fit, since the original design was relying on the stiff acrylic for structure, but it's not terrible either. I'll try it out for a few days to see if it works.

Spigen, and others, makes a case friendly glass. The Spigen glass works well on my Spigen Armor case but not so well on the Unicorn Beetle case. Cant speak for the others.

Try a thinner case, or no case as the heat will dissipate better.

I'm a fan of slim cases that don't have a lot going on. I picked up the Diztronic case from Amazon for $10. It's slim, fits the phone well, and has a nice matte finish on it. Probably not the most protection when it comes to drops, but I mainly was worried about the back glass getting scratched so this does a great job.
