Reasons why webroot is trash.

1. Flags Windows files as malicious and blocks the ability to update and or deletes normal user files/system files
   
   
2. Has a long running issue of flagging Windows as malware, this has happened a quite a lot since 2005. Its also still not completely fixed either and requires you to submit a ticket if you can.
   
   
3. Causes Crashes in Windows server 2008/2012/and Win 7 due to a faulty .sys file.
   
   
4. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA crashes cause on Win7-Win10 due to jacked up kernal and winsys files embedded in the program. Was fixed to happen worse 2 months later. (see original link)
   
   
5. Has issues with Steam and causing hard crashes in certain games, mods, and locks Nvidia GPUs down, this may not be an issue for you, but for a ton it is.
   
   
6. For you mac users. 22.6% detection rating
   
   
7. Detection rates deleted from the forums after getting exposed. Theres a lot of them in the cache.
   
   
8. As current as possible real world Examples and tests. Also never trust admins... having to work side by side with these people you would be amazed at how many IT people are completely worthless when it comes to netsec.
   
   
9. Webroot purposely does not volunteer for testing with major AV companies... wonder why? Check out this hardcore dodging. But as i posted before, everytime they have been tested they fail. They also pay for their own tests as well because all the other AVs that are tested... are fine... but webroot is "different" so it gets "penalized". Yes it does, because its trash.
   
   
10. Alright, getting lazy and wanna play Tekken. Check the customer reviews and the responses. As i mentioned before, it missed hijackers and a lot of ransomware until its too late. Primarily ones like Jigsaw (which i believe they may have finally patched), Slippy, and random ransomware scripters.

11. Malwarebytes is primarily a PUP finder, it finds a lot of general malware as well as a shitton of other infections. Ransomware, Hijackers, etc. I also recommend keeping a flash drive with all these guys on them and MBAR. (Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit)
    
    
12. Reason why i said Ublock Origin: You need to have a constant filter online where most standard users get their infections from. With an adblocker in place you not only safeguard yourself against BS links that appear (or are paid to appear) on google, yahoo, DDG, etc, it will also protect you against hidden objects on the page that either snoop or try and inject itself.
    
    
13. Why i said defender and update your shit: Its security, you should keep your shit updated always. But dont be stupid, read about the updates and check your manufacturer for compatibility issues if you're using a 3+ year old machine. Thats usually when the shit hits the fan is around the 3-5 year mark.
    
    
14. Reasons why i said NoScript and Ghostery. Protects against snooping and blocks flash, silverlight, java, etc from injecting hidden payloads on a MUCH stronger level.

15. Malwarebytes: ADW Cleaner is pretty epic for spot cleaning (quick targeted cleaning, its funnily enough now owned by MBAM. That happened recently) Also Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit. Patches known holes in your programs to make them near... NEAR... uninfectible. Been running it since it was being tested and if my niece and nephew can go crazy on my rig and not get crap on it. (Including Roblox mods which are virus hell) I trust it pretty damn well. Other than MBAM for PUP detection, ESETNod32, or grab the free Hitman Pro online and use that.
    
    
16. To Ublock Origin: None, ABP allows ads through depending on donations and crap. Check out the "whitelisting true advertisers" search results on google. They also sell ads... fun times!
    
    
17. to Defender: Kaspersky total control (Needs some disabling of features like MoneyPay and you need a strong PC to not see much traffic, also has high amounts of continual read/write to your disks... not so great for SSDs.)
    
    
18. NoScript and Ghostery are the only ones i know of besides making a Tampermonkey script and doing it yourself.

There’s a book a got in lieu of therapy called The Feeling Good Handbook that I bought because of its section on communication, but the rest of it was great too. Maybe give it a shot.

LPT: get a 12 pack of cheap microfiber towels from Amazon. They are big, but they work soooo well at cleaning glasses. Without any kind of water or solution, they will get all the oil off with just a wipe or two. I've since had LASIK, which I also recommend, but buy those microfiber towels. Not the thin ones you get with your glasses. Get the big fluffy ones and keep one at work, in your car, in your bag, at home. If you're as obsessive about keeping your glasses perfectly clean as I was, they'll be a godsend.

I use three different tools - a standard plastic comb, which is good for combing out the long haired one and giving them a quick tidy up if they look a bit dusty, this one for general hair reduction and scratchies on both of them, and I just got this one which is amazing for taking out hair they're going to shed soon. I know it says it's for dogs, but they use it at my local grooming place and it just takes out clouds of excess fur. I tend to use the wire brush most, the plastic comb once a day or so for general tidying up and back scratchies, and I just use the major hair removal one when I can see they've got some hair to shed, maybe once a week or so (still testing it out).

Doing it in the bathroom is good because it's so much easier to clean up, and if you do it every day there's little enough coming off that you can just leave it on the wire brush for next time and throw any stray tufts in the trash. It's just like brushing your hair I guess - if you brush it properly every day you don't shed hair all over everything.

Thinking about it, this also works on long-haired roommates and partners, but you'd need a different bush and an interesting relationship...

The switch was some cheap switch. Any basic switch would do (a router would do as well, just shut off DHCP if plugging into another router). Switches are cheaper than routers. It is only used for 1 device so quality is not a huge issue.
