I do and it has helped tremendously. I take it every day in the evening cos it also makes me a bit sleepy. I take the cherry flavored powder mixed with hot water. It looks like it’s 350mg magnesium carbonate: https://www.amazon.com/365-Everyday-Value-Magnesium-Cherry/dp/B074H6F65T
Edit: just to say I wouldn’t rely on magnesium alone. It helps stabilize I think, where I notice if I don’t take it, but it’s not a dramatic effect. I’d add in managing your stress and your time so you can do your best on these upcoming important things. I’d go way into self care stuff like hot baths and/or a massage and definitely exercise. We’re all so different in how our PMDD manifests and what treatments work best. But for me, exercise has really been the best thing to manage the moods. I supplement that with magnesium, low sugar high fiber diet and actually also weed when I need to chill out. When PMDD is bad I try to treat myself like my best friend or partner would on my birthday. All my favorite stuff, stuff that builds me up and makes me happy, talking to myself with encouragement as if I’m my own yoga teacher. So goofy, but it works!
One more edit! So for school work my version of self care would be exercising, getting sleep, eating healthy stuff that won’t make me moody, studying, not procrastinating because that’s just like academic self harm, doing a bit each day toward the goals so they’re not so overwhelming, basically protecting myself from getting overwhelmed by staying on top of this stuff. Good luck! I’ve done two masters degrees with pmdd and it was a struggle each time & there were some failures along the way but I did do it!
