found a hard wood plank in my stock don't know wich type of wood but it's local, soo birch, maple, oak or ashe

as for the keyboard tray its something like that https://www.amazon.ca/3M-Ergonomic-Adjustable-Keyboard-AKT90LE/dp/B001B0BBTW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1464667733&sr=8-4&keywords=articulating+keyboard+tray

except mine is an old and discounted model, don't remember the brand, but it was only the arm no tray, soo i build one myself (wich i prefer since i can have matching wood tray)

it's attached to the underside of the desk with small screw and the hole of the tray were already bigger to take into account wood movement

The tray on rails type tray are just crap. You want one like this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001B0BBTW/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=1944687402&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B004E1L29Y&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0D7Y48P1BW6TA8X72BX3

I've used those a lot, and they don't get in the way as much and the good ones are rock solid. Several manufacturers make ones like this, but they are more expensive than the "tray on rails" type.
