Costco beans are too dark, even the "medium" ones. Got Prime? Amazon Fresh Roast light beans are decent and under $1/oz. No roast date though.

Options in the top comment are great as well.

EDIT: $1/oz, not /lb. >_<

Amazon "Just Bright" (closer to medium than light really) @ $.48/oz

Amazon Rwanda Light Roast (SO) @ $.66/oz

I've grown fond of a couple of Amazon Fresh roasts.

The dark roast holds up better but is a little more expensive.

Starbucks/Peet's frequently get down to $5/bag around here. While it's not what you are asking for... I find that in that price range they deliver a consistent taste.

I've had mixed results from the Safeway stuff, their private reserve has had one type that was good but the beans didn't hold up so by the end of the week, the flavor was flat and then another that tasted like stale cardboard from the getgo.
