There's a pretty easy way to avoid this:

1. Take a warm bath with some bath salts. 5. After exfoliation, you shave. You only need to spread a little bit of it around and it helps to give a really great shave without any irritation (great for both men and women). Plus it last a long time.
   
   
6. Moisturize with your favorite skincare lotion, brand doesn't really matter. You just want to keep that area moist and healthy.
   
   
7. LAST STEP. Most important, DO NOT DO THIS THE SAME DAY YOU SHAVE. DO IT EITHER A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE OR AFTER.    The basic idea here is that through chemical exfoliation they'll smooth the red bumps and give you a very smooth look.

Experience & opinion: Helps the body wash sud up and it's great for daily exfoliation. Switch it out every 2-3 months.

stand up/squat leaning forwards, then I bring my arm around behind my leg then pull backwards so that I'm wiping from from anterior to posterior.

I prefer standing because quite frankly I'd rather not get a handful of toilet water (seriously, I don't understand sitting while you wipe.) and I also like the ease of access afforded by standing.

I tend to use a moderate amount of paper wadded into something that resembles one of those shower-poofs, with the aforementioned continuous swipe motion, if I have pooped I will apply some extra pressure and care when I get to the anus so as to get any stray poop particles.
