Silent Wings 3 are louder at higher RPMs than the NF-A14.

These Arctic P14 are quieter and move more air than either of them when pushing or pulling a fan against a filter or heatsink:

They're also 1/5 the cost per fan if you buy the 5 pack.

The reason I know is because I just finished giving away my ML140 and NF-A14 fans after these $6 fans thrashed them in performance...

I mean, it's within a couple degrees of others tested and that's in the stock configuration. When they added good fans it was right in line, especially with an added top fan (which is supposed to be stock but I guess GN didn't get one just like the pre-orders). It seems like the numbers in their graphs don't really match the super negative tone, or they're mostly just pissed off about the MSRP.

Personally I don't have any thermal issues with mine. My only real complaint is the stock rear fan is totally worthless garbage. It's loud as hell and it can't apparently run lower than like 40% or it just shuts off, so you can't get it to a low quiet RPM with some exhaust flow. NZXT should be ashamed of this fan.

I replaced the rear 120 and added a 140 to the top, with the Arctic value fans (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HCKWF2X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which I'm super impressed by. The AER RGB fans in the front aren't the best but are quiet enough at ~800rpm. I'm able to get a pretty quiet system with good air flow with this configuration, whether idle or at load. CPU and GPU temps stay perfectly in line with expectations, same for MB and SB temps. For reference I'm running an R5 3600 with a Prism cooler and an MSI 2070 Super Tri X whatever.

PWM version here or here, $32 5-pack.

I've been shopping for case fans lately and came across the Arctic P14 PWM 5-pack. Reviews I can find seem alright, and they're for sure cheaper than Noctuas. You guys have any thoughts? Also, I was looking at these rubber fan mounts and they're interesting because they are one of the few I've found with low-profile outside ends. If anybody's tried these or similar ones I'd be interested to hear your opinion on them.

One last thing: is a datavac worth it, and is there a cheaper almost-as-good option?

I revised your parts list a little bit while keeping the cost relatively the same.

  • Better (ATX) motherboard, MSI has the best B450s and there's no reason to use a mATX motherboard in an ATX case.

  • Better RAM, while this set of RAM doesn't have RGB lighting, it overclocks really well and Ryzen likes fast RAM. I believe it's Micron E-Die.

  • Swapped out the SSD+HDD for a 1 TB NVMe drive, you can always add a HDD if you choose later on.

  • You can get better performance with the 5700 XT over the 2060 Super.

Other than that, looks good. Another question would be what type of monitor you have/plan to get. You can also get a hefty discount if you purchase the CPU/Mobo at Micro Center if applicable.

Edit: Unless you really want RGB fans, I'd highly recommend these: https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-P14-Value-Pack-Pressure-optimised/dp/B07HCKWF2X

Have them in my case and they're great for airflow and are quiet.

Ah sorry, I removed it becuase I found them by searching Amazon only, and didn't want to ask too much of you haha, thank you for finding them on PCP though. I saw this on amazon from an old r/buildapcsales post: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HCKWF2X/?th=1

Might be worth getting so I can always replace a dud instantly (10 year warranty is nice!) and if friends need a fan or two I can give em out.

I'll have to see which size for my case I choose, but other than that thanks! I'll also be going with a 2 intake 1 exhaust as I've seen that's a decent way to go?
