I've had quite good luck with my Armarkat cat tree. This is the one I have
I've had it for a year with two big maine coonish cats and they've loved the crap out of it and there's almost no visible wear. It's a bit tall, so when my 15 pound cat goes bounding up to the top it tilts a little, but I usually just keep my cat litter stored on the base the help weigh it down.
