I would recommend Asus Gl503VM Hero Edition as it comes with: -
CPU: i7-7700HQ
GPU: GeForce GTX 1060
RAM: 16
Display: FHD 15.6 120 Hz IPS screen
Storage: 256 SSD,1 TB SSHD
Poor battery life
It is a great choice because of its great heat management system and high build quality, along with its specifications makes it the best option for your usage and it is within your budget.
also this might be good it is a bit bulkier and heavier but has a better battery life CUK HP Omen 15t as it comes with: -

Hey there, I believe /r/SuggestALaptop might be able to help more, but here's one I would buy within your budget:

Specs as follow:
I like Asus Rog line, this is personal preference. The gtx 1060 can handle most games on 1080p 60 fps, and I believe 16GB will be sufficient for video editing. I hope this helps.
I would recommend the Asus ROG Strix Scar/Hero edition 17 inch/15 inch.
Both offer 120hz screens and a gtx1060. They might be a little bit over your budget but they are also thin as well.

EDIT: If you are willing to go a little over your budget I would recommend that MSI GE63VR Raider as it has the same as above except it can be overclocked and has a better response rate, port selection, (the msi1060 performs better than the rog1060) keyboard, and it has better cooling. The gamer aesthetic might be heavier tho.

New intel 8th gen Hexa core processor laptops are out for pre-order.
The best laptops among the new are
MSI GS65 Stealth thin: thinnest msi laptop with practically no bezel and 144hz 7ms ups panel. It is a beast. The one with 1060 will cost you 1799. A little expensive but worth the price.
The one with 1070 max q is probably the best.

Asus Zephyrus M: Similar specs as above but has a normal bezel and a faster 3ms response time. Starts at 1599 I think.
Among the older i7 7th gen :
The Asus gl503vm might be your best bet.
Comes with i7 7th gen, 16 gigs of ram, 1060 3gb or 6gb depending on the configuration you chose.
1060 3gb :

Both of these are well inside your budget.

Looks really good. Exceeds my budget by quite much but if I don't find anything then I'll go for it. Is there anything that you personally do not like about your laptop?
