Ok, so like I said I would, here is the album of the install for my LED Lightbar. All said and done, it took about 5 hours of work. My father helped me out, so a big thank you to him!

Let me say this, we aren't professional mechanics or anything, but we have wired up stuff like this before. When deciding on how to run the wiring, we thought about running it down the windshield, but decided against it. Here is why. It will look better (in my opinion), and we both felt we were capable of doing the semi-professional way of drilling a hole. I think it turned out great, so I am satisfied.

On to the good stuff. If you decide to drill a hole like we did, I would recommend right behind the factory rail (it is pictured in the album. We went to Subaru and got some great information regarding this. There are no brackets for the airbags in that area, and you won't hit the airbag either, and there is no factory wiring that runs up the frame there. You can run the wire back along the rails and down into the cabin of the vehicle. That is also pictured.

If you do drill a hole, you will have to take the headliner off, or off enough to where you can get enough room to play with. My XV has eyesight, so taking it off completely wasn't an option. We were able to take the left-hand side hand holds, sun visor, and A pillar cover off, and that gave us enough room to work with. Again, everything is pictured.

Here is what I bought:

  • Brackets

  • Wiring harness

  • Lightbar

I did the research on LED Lightbars and such, and landed on the one I linked. I love it so far, but do your research and figure out which one works best for you.

We also had some 14 gauge wire that we bought, along with wire connectors and the like to complete the project.

Feel free to ask any questions!
