I currently wear something similar link below. They don't provide enough coverage to the calf (or my calf's are to fat). Most people that do leg hits on me are moving to the outside where the coverage is weakest. They are cheap and better than nothing but I would not recommend them. I hoping to try the kvetun shins I have herd good things
