So, washing your cannaoil can remove some of the taste. After your coconut cannaoil has solidified and you've discarded the water, you melt it in some fresh warm water and then whisk it with a wire whisk, then chill to solidify again. After you discard this second water, your cannaoil will have less weed taste.

But there's only so much you can do with this method. There are oil soluble and water soluble flavor compounds that give cannaoil its taste, and by washing the oil, you can get rid of almost all of the water soluble compounds. But this isn't going to do anything about the oil soluble compounds.

And using isopropanol isn't a great idea, because while it will readily dissolve oil soluble (and water soluble) flavor compounds, it will also dissolve oil soluble cannabinols. So you'd be tossing out the baby with the bath water.

I remember reading in college about a chemical procedure for extracting the oil soluble flavor compounds but leaving the cannabinoids. This process was used to make high grade hash oil. Unfortunately, in addition to isopropanol, it required ether, which is both challenging to acquire and dangerous to use.

I haven't yet purchased Beyond Buds, by Ed Rosenthal, but it sounds like this more recent book might have info on how to create a low flavor extract. However, I think it's a safe bet that the method will involve potentially dangerous solvents.

Personally, I've found masking to be effective; that's covering up one flavor with a stronger flavor. Rich chocolate is a good one, but even more effective are strong savory flavors such as garlic, umami, herbs, etc.
