My hands are very sticky too. For a long time I tried to use various gloves, but I find that the cue is harder to control because it is too slippery.

Some people use Scotch Brite to sand the cue, but this will narrow your shaft over time. A better option is a q-wiz, but as somebody who has owned about 20 of them, I can assure that they are pieces of shit. They clean your shaft effectively without sanding it, but they quickly degrade and become useless, hence why I have had 20 of them.

I finally found the perfect solution to my sticky shaft delema. Part one is the Tiger shaft cleaner, works just like a q-wiz except it lasts much, much, much longer. I still have yet to use up one, so I can't even say how long they last for sure. A long time. Part two is a quality microfiber cloth. Not a shitty one. Shitty ones work a little bit, but the nice ones are spectacular. I use these. They stay clean for about 3 weeks before I have to wash the one I have been using and switch it out for another one, but I play about 4 times a week, so your frequency may vary. I know they are cheap, but the quality is top notch, trust me on that. The color is...unfortunate.

My pool cue shaft is always incredibly smooth with this combination, and it doesn't take much work. If I'm playing an intense match I usually wipe my shaft twice during the course of the match. I vastly prefer this to a glove.

I personally like The Chemical Guys' towels. I bought a 6-pack of these towels personally.
