OH MAN IS THIS EVER THE CONTEST FOR ME

To tea or not to tea is the question indeed!

This has been on my wishlist FOREVER, but I'd be more than happy to pick something cheaper if needed! Heck, recommend your favourites if you've got 'em -- I always wanna try new things. =]

I started drinking chamomile as a kid to help me relax before bed and help with my asthma, and then as I got older started drinking tea in place of coffee just because too much caffeine gave me the jitters. But the thing about tea is obviously that it is SO ADDICTIVE that I've never really missed coffee (aside from gingerbread lattes around the holidays -- I still give in for those!) and I have... gosh, I don't have time now because I have work soon, but later I'll post a picture of the ridiculous amount of tea I've tried to stuff into the little cabinet space I have in my tiny college apartment. ='] It's always been a ridiculous effort and something inevitably tumbles out on me every time I open that cabinet, but I don't really care.

Every morning starts with a fresh cuppa (black tea is my favourite! Especially assam!) and a lot of evenings are accompanied by something herbal, usually chamomile. But Sunday night is an important part of my tea routine, too! I can usually get three good steeps out of the quality of tea leaves I usually buy, so I warm my teapot, put the kettle on the stove (her name is EDI) and measure out the leaves into the pot with some tea or honey. Two big pitchers go in the freezer to start chilling. As soon as the water boils it goes in the pot, I start a timer for three minutes, and refill the kettle and put it back on. When the first steep is done, I retrieve a pitcher and strain it in. Pitcher goes back into the freezer to cool quickly. Add more honey or sugar to the pot, and repeat! At the end I have two pitchers of iced tea to take to work in my water bottle every day. Having a ready-made week's supply is SO convenient, and the tea keeps my awake and hydrated during long, boring shifts at a call centre. I'm also very prone to grabbing paper cups from the water cooler and forcing some on my co-workers: "Try this! Try this!"

Sorry for writing you a novel and I'm not sure if this adequately explains my relationship with tea, but the stuff seriously flows through my veins in the place of blood. TEA!
