The past few years walking long distances over my urban campus I've pretty exclusively worn Target's Keds-style shoes, Reebok Skyscapes, Nike Frees, Hush Puppies Madison combat lace-up boot (waterproof godsends), Clarks Billie Swing sandal, and a basic pair of black chelsea boots from asos. Sometimes ballet flats, but god ALL of them really end up sucking for distance. Avoid.
I pretty exclusively wear skinny jeans/pants and these work great with them every time. Also I live in Georgia, so this should be relevant to your temps/weather a bit.
