I carry mine only for emergencies and I'm really happy with a hexamine stove. Boils a cup of water in around 7 - 9 minutes which is good enough for my use.

I actually don't subscribe to /r/EDC, although I did just do the EDC exchange on RedditGifts and I'm all about the edc/preparedness/sustainable lifestyle! I'd call myself a casual prepper (I have a bug out bag, but that's about it). I've always loved the idea of being a survivalist in any situation. I've been slowing getting all the proper gear and supplies for a camping trip that I hope to take this spring/summer. I haven't been camping in too long and I have to start from scratch. I'd love to try some of those bulk red fuel disks but I don't know if I should just start off with that much or a more frugal/introductory (although likely much less effective) option. I'd love to talk equipment if you have any favorites or suggestions!
