I feel the same way about the Coldsteel Recon 1 I just got. I'd been using a Kershaw Kuro for work, which is a small knife. The Recon 1 is fricken huge.
I'm thinking about buying a Leek, though.
Does anyone know what knife would be good for Landscaping use? Cutting arbor bracing, plant material, and the like. It would have to be decently resistant to rusting, as it will probably be getting wet a lot.

Here is the exact one i have
A lot of people are probably going to reccomend a knife with no point for safety reasons but I am a big believer in the tanto style point with a half serrated edge for emergency use. I've had the Cold Steel Recon 1 for a while now and I love it!

Check it out, it would make quite the gift and could possibly safe their or someone else's life someday.
Sounds like you want a cold steel- many sizes- strong lock- great steel (I forget which exactly but it made a 60 on the hardness scale(very good/not brittle)) and best of all the blade thickness stays at 4mm until the very end, so even the folders can pry-
Here's a good example of a knife that'll meet your needs: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00322HR2C
