I own the Hooligan 3 and its a great car camping tent. Everyone is mentioning waterproof rating, the Hooligan series will be using silnylon for a fly, like most tents, so the rating will be around 1500mm. It has a waterproof bathtub floor that is made from a much stronger material, similar to those cheap blue tarps. I've made it through downpours in my Hooligan 3 and everything on the inside was completely dry. Also, its on Amazon for like $90 right now.
If it were me I would spend the money and get a decent backpacking tent then. It will cost you more but hiking with a car camping tent is hell. One thing I have found is if you need to shelter 4 people 2 2man tents is easier to backpack with than 1 4 man. Splits the weight a bit better and a good spot for a 4 man isn't always easy to find where I camp (Boundry waters). Being that you are in BIFL you're going to end up spending more money.

It has been through about 60 nights in the boundry waters and I haven't really had a problem with it. It is definitely on the heavy side, I wouldn't want to hike with it too far, not BIFL but if you take care of it (UV spray every spring and seams glued) it isn't a bad tent.
If I was going for a true hiking 4 man I would get something like this:

Honestly for hiking I would probably just bring my eno hammock tent these days. Sure every one has to have their own but they are quite comfortable and light weight.
Really any of the brands listed have good tents and the more you spend the longer it will last and the lighter it will be. Not tent is truely BIFL and it's lifespan will depend heavily on how well you take care of it.
EDIT: I would also recommend 2 different tents. Get a big extra spacious cheap one that weighs a ton for the car camping and then have a more expensive light weight one for the hiking. It will save you the wear and tear on the expensive one and give you more room when you aren't really worried about carrying a lot of weight. I have a coleman 6 man I use for 4 person car camping.
