Most newer cameras have Bluetooth or wifi for that purpose, but in the meantime you can try something like this if your phone has MicroUSB OTG (or a Type-C version if you phone has Type-C).

I want to transfer photos from my DLSR to my Phone (have a good memory card already so not looking to get a wifi card) and not have to involve my desktop if possible. has anyone used this or something similar?
Does it work well enough? Ultimately in the next few months i want to get a new camera anyway that has the built in wifi transfer so this will be a temp purchase?
If its terrible i will stick with the desktop - phone process.
Thanks!
