You might be thinking of the RGB version. Newegg used to consistently carry the non-rgb version for $110, and it would hit $115-110 on Memory Express, Amazon and NCIX fairly regularly.

I'm debating between the K70 and the Glorious Modular Mechanical. I need the numpad. I really like the media keys of the K70, but I also like the ability to switch to a different switch without having to buy a new keyboard if I don't like the browns. Being my first mechanical, I feel like having that option is pretty important. I'm not a huge gamer, so mostly typing and I don't want it to be annoyingly loud. Any suggestions?

Look for a major brand like Corsair with real Cherry MX keys like on a K70 LUX which I love :

Or the RGB version for 55$+ (if you absolutely need rainbows 🌈) :

Personally I have the Corsair K70 RGB with MX Reds, but a friend has the MX Brown version. I love my K70. The switches feel great, and the LEDs can be fairly bright, even in daytime. AMA

great keyboard and a damn steal right now here

Since you asked for recommendation for a good backlit keyboard with the budget <$100, I can strongly recommend Cherry MX Brown / Gateron Brown Mechanical Keyboards as they are both good for gaming and daily use. Here are couple of good, proven mechanical keyboards:

  • Corsair STRAFE ($90) - Link
  • Corsair Gaming K70 LUX ($80) - Link
  • CM Storm QuickFire Rapid ($85) - Link

Or, you can go with some cheaper keyboards with Gateron Brown (Here is one that's only $40, but the rather unconventional layout might confuse you).

/r/MechanicalKeyboards is a great resource on this subject, and I really suggest that you check them out.

Yep, it's the RGB.. here's mine slightly more than I paid for it 6 months ago:

The Corsair K70 LUX might be the right one for you. Has everything you're asking for and within budget. You could hold off on a sale, where I would guess it would be about $95 from Newegg or Amazon.

I'm currently attempting to decide between four-five mechanical keyboards. I'm looking for something durable, with brown switches of some kind. I do a lot of typing, but I'm also a casual gamer, and my old logitech scissor-switch board is on its way out. I'll list the keyboards I'm eyeing in a table here. My budget is around 110$. Keyboards are listed from cheapest to most expensive.

Corsair Strafe, red backlight

WASD V2 104-key Barebones

Glorious RGB Modular Mechanical keyboard

Max keyboard Nighthawk Pro X

Corsair K70, red backlight

Thanks in advance!

o-rings are modules, just search for gateron clears, and then buy some o-rings on amazon.
I'm afraid that you won't find any gateron clears on any of the mainstream gaming keyboards.

You could buy Cherry MX browns, you'd find them quite easily they are in between linear (nicer for gaming) and tactile (nicer for typing) they are the best of both worlds.

A cool keyboard with browns and backlit (gaming at night ...) : the

link to a 100% keyboard from Cooler Master

link to a 100% keyboard from Corsair (Corsair has a bad reputation but don't listen to the r/mkb elitist, they are nice boards)

link to another Corsair boards, cheaper and simpler

finally a board from Logitech that looks like a regular mechanical keyboard without too much things on it

All of the K70 LUX models are on sale, including all switches with red LEDs and the Cherry MX Reds with blue LEDs.

Budget is $100. Would prefer brown switches. Backlight would be a bonus. I feel like tenkeyless would be better because they're smaller but not a big deal.

Right now there's a prime deal for corsair k70 brown for $89

Thoughts on this vs CM Storm Quickfire TK / CM Storm Quickfire Rapid-i?

u/noroadsleft · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Yes, ANSI (NA layout) has the single-row Enter while ISO (used in the UK) has the two-row enter key and a smaller left shift to make space for another key.

Found this ANSI K70 Lux on Amazon US. Does that work for you?

u/prpr_hrdcr · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

For comparison, here is the Lux version of this keyboard. It's at $138 which I believe is about the lowest it's been on Amazon. For me it comes out to $163.70 with shipping and tax.

u/skaudis · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

I'm looking for:

  • Under $150

  • Full size

  • Cherry MX Brown switches

  • PBT keycaps preferred (don't have to come with keyboard, but need to be factored into cost if separate)

  • Wrist-guard compatible/low profile

  • ANSI & QWERTY

  • No preference towards backlighting

  • Purchase and shipped to USA

The keyboard does not have to meet every single aspect as described above, so feel free to link to a keyboard that is similar.

I realize a prebuilt keyboard with all of these features is probably rare, so here are some prebuilts that I also find acceptable. Please mention which one, if any, you would get of these.

    Refurbished K70

    K70 Lux

    Rosewill Apollo RK9100

    CM Storm QuickFire

Thank you very much for the help
