I'm currently using this iStarUSA D-400-6 (Holy shit, there's a 60% off coupon right now, ends soon though!!!) along with this that fits into either of the front 3.5" bays (Although I do recommend putting it on the side opposite of the power switches, the audio cable isn't terribly long)

Super happy with the combo and temps stay decent. Even have an iStar 3 in 2 hot swap cage to help round out the combo and for ease of swapping drives around along with a 4 2.5" in 5 1/4" for any ssd's I may need to move around

Have my main gaming rig rack mounted in my cabinet since I have it right next where I would normally put the computer.

If you do pick this up, I would also recommend picking up/finding a fan bar as that will help with structural integrity, or so I want to believe, that and you could zip tie some 120 mm fans inside to help with airflow.

If you have any questions, or want any pics, let me know

Edit: Updated some links

You could get either a Schitt SYS or JDS Labs OL Switcher. This is ideal. Even though the 3.5mm jack is quite rugged, repeated plugging and unplugging will wear it out, like what happened to you, probably. Having a passive switch like this is superior to using a y-splitter (this would play on both headphones and speakers at the same time) or your keyboard, since you would still have to manually unplug and replug your devices.

However, if you had a spare external 3.5 inch drive bay in your tower, you could also get one of these for a quick fix: https://smile.amazon.com/2-Port-Microphone-Desktop-Connector-Adapter/dp/B013QSTTUO

If you case has a empty 3.5-inch slot in the front, you can install one of these to get a new set of 3.5mm jacks:

However, external 3.5-inch and 5.25-inch slots are not very common in cases these days.
