First, stop caring if people are looking at you and do what you came to do.

Since you're only 17, I understand how difficult that can be (and as someone who has occasionally had to deal with adult "bacne," I can understand the frustration and discomfort). Therefore, here's something that should help with the acne.

Bacteria tends to thrive on the dirt and oil in your pores. Sweat, etc, your pores get full of yuck and bacterial infection occurs. IF it's really bad, you will probably need the creams and such your doc is prescribing, but one thing that will help is to make sure you keep your face clean. Buy the following:

Dr. Woods' Liquid Peppermint Soap

or

Dr. Bronner's Pure Peppermint Soap.

Either will suffuce. I used to swear by Bronners, but the price has gone way up in recent years. Dr. Woods' is great, cheaper, and the only difference is the base oil used.

Next, an exfoliating cloth or glove. Something like these. Great for full body washing or just face scrubbing, whatever.

Now just wash your face by getting some nice hot water, wet up the glove or cloth, pour on some of that peppermint soap, and scrub. It's okay to be a bit rough, a little discomfort is fine, after all, it's a rough glove or cloth, but it shouldn't hurt (though the peppermint on infected pores may sting quite a bit initially.

Do this at least once, and preferably twice a day. No guarantees it will entirely clear up the acne, but it will keep your pores open and clean, and help prevent them clogging as badly in the future, so long as you keep a good cleaning regimen.

I've got a thin microfiber towel that folds up compactly that I carry for drying off/cooling off/wiping condensation off the tent and a little tiny one that came with my Windburner stove for cleaning and drying the pot after use. I like microfiber for a lot of things.

The reluctance I would have on a microfiber cloth for bathing sans soap is that all the microfiber I've seen is very soft, however you said the ones you have are exfoliating, so maybe there's different kinds out there. I like something with a little more "bite" than the microfiber I've seen to scrape off the dirt and oils. Scrubby mitts or cloths of the type like u/phyrebird linked in this comment or like these do a fair job of scrubbing off grime, even without suds in my opinion.

It sounds like you've already put the ones you have to the test and like them, and I don't know of any reason you shouldn't use microfiber if they work for you, so I'd just stick with them!
