Got this one a month ago. It's great. It does kinda take over your cube, though. But worth it. https://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-WorkFit-S-33-341-200-Sit-Stand-Workstation/dp/B003Y3PF6E

They do make desk risers specifically for this, but as you want it raised a foot that would be dangerous. I don't know if there is anything that will look smart and be safe to raise it that much.

You mentioned you can't get a new desk, don't know if this is for logistic or financial reasons. This http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B003Y3PF6E?pc_redir=1414090606&robot_redir=1 or similar will rise up your monitor and mouse and keyboard so you can stand, but it's still very expensive.

Get a standing desk, here's a popular one (though you may need to modify the mousepad for gaming) Solves all the back issues, generally is better for your body/weight, and makes any chair more feasible.

If you really want a chair, costco has some of the best deals under 200. Make sure to get a full back, and measure how high you want your mousepad at, make sure the arm rests are going to come just under that to support your arm while gaming.

I can't find the exact one I have (currently out on paternity leave), but it's something like this. It's counter weighted so you can go from sit to stand with one hand which is really nice.

I do wish my entire desk moved, I can't really review drawings or look at more than two documents at the same time while standing, but it's a good compromise.
