I agree with the no fires. There are a ton of negatives and very few positives. Unless it is a survival situation I do not see the point. I have very nice ultra light gear and the thought of a stray spark eating holes in all my crap makes me very agitated.

If it is a light/heat thing I carry Snow Peak I always carry this as well headlamp So there is couple of suggestions for OP. I also carry Stove If it is going to be me and the wife. If alone.

I love these Pants. They can be found on REI clearance for $55-75 Regularly and if it is going to stay below 60 degrees it is generally the only pair of pants I bring besides maybe a base layer. They are very warm, shed water well, and when they actually get wet they dry quickly. The way the convert zippers are designed you don't get the knee cap pain when kneeling and don't have to remove shoes to go long or short.

All of the gear listed above has at least 100 days in back country the #3 spiral hugger is probably more like 250-300 days.

Thanks for the information; this looks like a pretty good tent. Would you recommend REI tents over one such as this:http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-Alpenlite-2XT-Tent-sleeps/dp/B000EQAU2S/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_9 ? Thanks.
