I also purchased a lightening cream to see if that would help with the dark spots and it definitely has.
For me? Any. For you? Whatever makes you comfortable. I used to be quite hairy and started shaving off all my body hair a couple of months ago. I keep fucking up my chest and thighs so I'm probably going to switch to wax for those, but aside from discomfort from shaving complications it feels a lot better. I'm less hot, water and wind feel amazing on my hands and arms, and all the soft things have become about 30 times softer. Comparatively hairless skin feels really different and I find it a lot more comfortable. No more "Wtf is that feeling on my leg? Oh, it's just a small forest."
If you do decide to shave body hair, here are some tips I wish I'd had right from the beginning.
Shaving is kind of a pain in the ass, though. Waxing is expensive as fuck but less maintenance. I'm definitely looking in that direction.
You mention being concerned about shoulder hair. I find that's actually one of the easiest areas to shave without problems, as it's pretty flat. Hard to see, though.
I use a wet/dry one. I pasted the link below for the one I purchased. I noticed much better results using it on wet skin, especially in the shower. I use a tiny bit of soap with it and rub it in small circles for ~30 seconds and move to the next area. I have this issue on my arms, legs, and upper thigh. My arms are noticeably smoother now with less bumps. My legs have less red dots but I think they may take longer since they’re worse than my arms.
