Q2 I can't answer for you. I read Foundation but didn't enjoy it enough to read the rest of the series (prequels or sequels).

Foundation and Caves of Steel are both classic scifi novels. I guarantee you won't be able to put them down till you've reached the end.

Starship Troopers and The Forever War are in the same level.

These books are kinda old so maybe you've already read them but I recommend them to anyone I get a chance to.
