You’ll also need an appropriately sized 24v transformers. I used one large, but wish I’d actually used 3 smaller.
I have an Insteon scene for basic on/off. Turn scene controller button on/off executes code in a universal-devices ISY-994 that calls hue hub API, hue hub is zigbee so it talks to controller linked above. Alexa and hue app have more control for color change etc. If I ever get time to work on it I may expand the communication. Also should be noted the new generations of Alexa have Zigbee hub built in, I don’t know what if any limitations are imposed, don’t have one.
Bottom line, in practice, you probably don’t use that many variations of colors. It sounds nice on paper, but you’ll find there’s only so many that you like and that match the decor. I had a different RGB system before and learned this.
